Born on 10th July 1951 in a farmers family at village Babhora, Tehasil Chakia, District Varansi (now district
Chanduli) UP, to Shri Rambadan Singh and Srimati Gujarati Devi.
He received his basic education in the village and subsequently he completed his MSc Physics from Gorakhapur
University UP. He worked as a lecturer of Physics at K.B. Post-Graduate College Mirzapur, UP.
Sushma Swaraj
Sushma Swaraj pronunciation (helpinfo) (born 14 February 1952) is an Indian politician, former lawyer and
the current Minister of External Affairs of India, in office since 26 May 2014. A leader of Bharatiya Janata Party,
Swaraj is the second woman to be India's Minister of External Affairs, being only after Indira Gandhi. She has
been elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
At the age of 25 in 1977, she became the youngest cabinet minister of north Indian state of Haryana. She also
served as 5th Chief Minister of Delhi, for a brief term in 1998.[1]
Arun Jaitley
Arun Jaitley (born 28 December 1952) is currently the Minister of Finance, Minister of Corporate
Affairs and Minister of Information and Broadcasting of India. He is a member of the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP). He has also previously held the portfolios as the Minister for Commerce and
Industry, Law and Justice in the National Democratic Alliance government (19982004).[1][2] He is
also the current Leader of the House at Rajya Sabha. In the 2014 general election, he
unsuccessfully contested as Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate for Amritsar, where he was
defeated by Indian National Congress candidate, Captain Amarinder Singh.
Venkaiah Naidu
Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu (Telugu language: ) (born 1 July 1949) is
an Indian politician hailing from Andhra Pradesh. He is a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata
Party and has also served as the National President of the party from 2002 to 2004. [1] Currently,
he is serving as the Union Minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation
and Parliamentary Affairs in the Narendra Modi government.[2][3] Earlier, he was the Union Cabinet
Minister for Rural Development in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government
Nitin Gadkari
Nitin Jairam Gadkari pronunciation (helpinfo); (born 27 May 1957) is an Indian politician and the current
Transport minister under the BJP central cabinet in the 16th Loksabha.[1] Mr Gadkari was appointed to head BJP
in December 2009 after the party suffered a defeat in the general elections earlier that year.[2] He is also known
for the works during his tenure as a Public Works Department Minister in the state of Maharashta when he
constructed a series of roads, highways and flyovers across the state including the Yashwantrao Chavan
MumbaiPune Expressway.[3]
Manohar Parrikar
Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar (born 13 December 1955) is an Indian politician from
the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the incumbent Defence Minister of India. Before being
inducted into the Council of Ministers of the Union Government on 9 November 2014, he was
Chief Minister of Goa, first from 2000 to 2005 (Goa's first BJP chief minister), and later from March
2012 to November 2014.[2][3][4] He was replaced by Laxmikant Parsekar as Goa's CM. Parrikar had
represented the Panaji constituency in the Legislative Assembly of Goa when he was a player in
the state politics
Suresh Prabhu
Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu (born 11 July 1953) is an Indian politician and the current Railway
Minister of India, under the Narendra Modi government.[1] He is a Chartered Accountant by
profession and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Since 1996, Prabhu
has been a repeatedly elected Member of Parliament from Rajapur Lok Sabha constituency in
Maharashtra as a member of the Shiv Sena (SS) political party. He quit Shiv Sena and joined BJP
on 9 November 2014.[2] He presently represents Haryana in Upper House of Indian Parliament.
D. V. Sadananda Gowda
Devaragunda Venkappa Sadananda Gowda (born 18 March 1953) is an Indian politician who
was the 20th Chief Minister of Karnataka and is currently the Minister of Law and Justice in the
Government of India. He was shifted from the Ministry of Railways in the cabinet reshuffle of 9
November 2014.[1] He is a member of the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Bangalore North
constituency.
Uma Bharti

development and Ganga rejuvenation in the union government of India. Raised by Vijaya Raje Scindia of
Gwalior, she became involved with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a very young age, unsuccessfully
contesting her first Parliamentary elections in 1984. In 1989, she successfully contested the Khajuraho seat, and
retained it in elections conducted in 1991, 1996 and 1998. In 1999, she switched constituencies and won the
Bhopal seat. In the Vajpayee Administration, she held various state-level and cabinet-level portfolios of Human
Resource Development, Tourism, Youth Affairs & Sports, and finally Coal & Mines. She is occasionally given
the honorific "sadhvi" on account of being a renouncer.[1]
Najma Heptulla
Dr. Najma Akbarali Heptulla (born 13 April 1940) is an Indian politician. She is a former vicepresident of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and a five time member of the Rajya Sabha, the
Upper House of the Indian parliament, between 1986 and 2012, and Deputy Chairman of the
Rajya Sabha for sixteen years. She was a member representing Rajasthan from July 2004 to July
2010. She was nominated by the BJP for the Rajya Sabha in 2012 from Madhya Pradesh, and
assumed her office on 24 April 2012.[1][2]
