prayers.

Flowers on the altar this weekend are sponsored by Marcy Schellenberg in loving memory

and direct our youth and for the youth who continue to attend Sunday School and
confirmation. An additional arrangement has been sponsored by Ken & Paula Rasmussen

Everyone is invited to Fellowship Hour for coffee and rolls between
services each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall.
PLEASE CONTACT THE CHURCH OFFICE if you or someone you know is hospitalized and
would enjoy a visit. Our church staff and hospital visiting volunteers would be happy to
greet, see, and pray with you.
Call Committee Report: We are now studying candidate profiles which have been

SEPTEMBER
MEANS FOOD
PANTRY
Time again to
think about the
Norfolk Food Pantry
and how you can
help! St. Johns
supports the pantry
by donations of nonperishable food items,
monetary gifts to
purchase the perishable foods, and by
volunteers who sack groceries during
September for two hours each weekday
morning. THANK YOU!
* Non-perishable food may be left in the
collection boxes in the west hall, the narthex
and by the church office.
* Monetary gifts (placed in an envelope
designated Food Pantry) may be placedin the
offering plate or dropped off in the curch
office.
* To give of your time to help at the pantry,
check todays Registration Slip or call Shirley
Frowick @ 402-644-7882.
Thank you, too, for your donations of egg
cartons and plastic grocery bags which are
also needed!

BRIGHT HORIZONS DIAPER DRIVE

During September, Bright Horizons
will be collecting diapers for children in
the community. Disposable diapers are
required by daycare providers, and
average $100/month. We are especially
in need of sizes 4, 5, 6 and baby wipes.

NOTE: An anonymous donor

has thrown down a gauntlet for
the Folks & Forks NeLCM
Fundraiser:
$1,000 Jug Challenge!
$1,000 in the jug will be
matched dollar for dollar. Help
us rise to the challenge!

God's Work, Our Hands Sunday is coming

Sept. 13th! Take a

meeting on August 13th.
The Zone Afterschool Program was
granted $4,000 for their continuing
operation in the new school year. The Zone

safe environment that strengthens social
skills and character.
The board also gave $3,500 to Mercy
Meals which will cover the cost of material

plus some additional to help defray the cost
of needing to rent the DeVent Center for
packing. The college gym was not available
this year.
