Course Learning Objectives:
This course is designed to instruct IR employees and introduce basic geometric dimensioning and
tolerance principles. Topics include symbols, annotation, theory, and applications. Upon completion,
students should be able to interpret and apply basic geometric dimensioning and tolerance principles to
drawings.

Course Description:
This class is part of the Advanced Manufacturing Academy Awarding Credit for Continuing Education
at Ingersoll Rand. The program is designed to build important workplace competencies while also
providing an opportunity for Ingersoll-Rand employees to earn curriculum credit. The course
instruction is designed to fulfill the requirements of an equivalent curriculum course and position
students to pursue credit-by-examination at the completion of the course.
Upon completion of this course, students will have an understanding of the symbols on existing
drawings to calculating the tolerances for proper size and location of features. GD&T concepts are
introduced in a methodical manner to help ensure a full understanding of basic concepts.

Evaluation Methodology
Students will be evaluated on their performance in class based upon clear evidence of
application in class and minimum attendance policies.

Attendance
For successful completion of the course, students must attend 90% of the class hours. For this
course, hours missed will need to be completed.

19. Inclement Weather Closing of School
In case of inclement weather, the President or his or her authorized representative may close
the school or begin classes at a later hour. Information on school closing or delayed starting
