New Adolescent Medicine

Faculty Position
The Division of Adolescent Medicine at Nationwide
Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics
at The Ohio State University is seeking a physician to
join our team. Academic rank is open and
commensurate with experience. The Division of
Adolescent Medicine has eight physicians and is led by
Steven C. Matson, MD.
The ideal candidate for this position will be BC/BE in
Adolescent Medicine. A candidate with an interest in
school-based health and/or adolescent wellness is
preferred. Excellence in clinical service and teaching
of medical students, residents and Adolescent
Medicine Fellows is an expectation. An interest in
clinical research will be encouraged and supported.
Institutional research resources are excellent.
The Adolescent Medicine Clinic and its three satellite
offices provide more than 12,000 patient visits
annually. The clinic is open five days a week and is
staffed by nurses, social workers and mental health
providers committed to the care of adolescents.
Clinical programs within the Division include
gynecology consultation, the Eating Disorder
Program, with multidisciplinary outpatient visits,
partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient
treatment available, the Medication Assisted
Treatment of Addiction (MATA) Program for youth
with opioid abuse disorders, and the
BC4Teens/Young Womens Contraceptive Services
program. Providers within the Division serve on
multidisciplinary teams in the THRIVE Program
(differences/disorders of sex development (DSD),
complex urological conditions, and gender concerns)
and the nascent School-Based Health Center program.
Clinical work includes primary care for at risk
adolescents, service in our diverse subspecialty
programs, as well as care of adolescent inpatients and
youth in juvenile detention.
