    Product Overview
    The DB-11 Seal (Model DB11-SEAL) from
    Siemens Fire Safety is a standard rubber
    seal that is compatible with the Model
    DB-11 Base, as well as with the following
    Models:

    DT-11
    FP-11
    FPT-11
    HFP-11

    HFPO-11
    HFPT-11
    PE-11
    PE-11T

    Used to mitigate and / or minimize the


    smoke stack effect, Model DB11-SEAL is
    custom cut to fit inside the detector base.
    Model DB11-SEAL has a twofold means of
    functioning within the detector. In one
    way, Model DB11-SEAL acts as an air-flow
    barrier within the detector by preventing
    extraneous airflow through the chamber
    thus allowing only smoke to move into the
    detector. The other characteristic of Model
    DB11-SEAL focuses on its construction.

    Condensation will form on the back of the


    detector in certain applications, due to
    variations in temperature and humidity.
    However, the paper-thin, rubber-compound
    material of Model DB11-SEAL will prevent
    the moisture from entering into the
    detector.

    Specifications
    Model DB11-SEAL is UL and ULC Listed;
    FM, CSFM and NYMEA Approved.
    Actual job conditions and sound engineering
    judgment must determine when to use this
    product. Be sure to consider environmental
    factors, including ambient-temperature
    fluctuation and the nature of the fire hazard.
    Should questions arise regarding usage,
    follow the drawings provided and / or
    approved by Siemens Industry, Inc. Fire
    Safety, or by its authorized distributors.

    Details for Ordering

    After mounting and wiring the Model DB-11


    base (according to the appropriate
    installation instructions,) follow the steps
    listed below to install Model DB-11-SEAL:

    DB11 Seal for Model DB-11, 24 PC

    1. Place the base seal (1/4" white foam) firmly


    into the bottom of the base. Do not cover
    the contact springs.
    2. Rotate the detector counterclockwise while
    pressing on it until the detector drops into
    the base.
    3. Rotate the detector clockwise until it stops
    and locks in place.
