learning the classic moves of partner dancing

What is your goal?

As a club, our goal is to be more widely recognized on campus
and cause more people to consider going to social dance clubs
as a clean, fun and more relaxed evening outing. We aspire to
foster a greater sense of community on the SMU campus with
the shared experience of social dancing.
Who is a part of Ballroom?
Anyone can join SMU Ballroom at any time. Our general
social classes are designed to be accessible to anyone with zero
dance experience.
What are you most excited about for next year?
I am personally excited to represent SMU in California at the
Berkeley Classic at the Univeristy of California, at Berkeley.

Interview with the Vice President of the Ballroom Team,

sophomore Luke Baker
In your own words, what is Ballroom?
Ballroom is an organization that gives college students the ability
to learn how to social dance and/or compete in the international
style of ballroom dancing without paying an arm and a leg and
selling your soul.

What is your favorite thing youve done with

Ballroom?
My favorite accomplishment is developing a love for social
dancing. I no longer feel awkward in dancing environments.
Gone are the days of awkwardly jumping around and waving
my arms attempting to blend in on the dance floor.
What does Ballroom bring to the SMU campus and
community?
SMU Ballroom brings the lost art of partner dancing to the
SMU campus and community.
