Rohini is a nakshatra in Indian astronomy corresponding to Aldebaran in modern
astronomy as Alpha-Tauri. It extends in the Vrishabha Rasi from 10O to 23O 20 (400 to
5320 of the zodiac.) Stars: The Hyades are five stars in the head of the Bull. Aldebaran
is the red eye of the Bull. This star gives enthusiasm, intelligence, eloquence and public
honors, but there can be sickness and violence. Rohini can be roughly
translated into The Reddish One" or 'The Growing One". The color "Red" evokes notions
of warmth, passion and liveliness. It was seen as the colour of Abundance & Prosperity
Rohini, the seed of lunar energy, is represented in the celestial firmament by a very bright
pale rose star in the constellation of Taurus. Aldebaran is one of the brightest stars in the
night sky, with a Visual magnitude of 0.99. In fact this unique pale rose star can even be
spotted in the evening sky. The ancient Vedic seers revered this star because this was
