This is a great project for a beginner, it incorporates basic stitches in a fun and easy way to crochet an afghan.
For ease of Crocheting, read instructions fully before starting project. Each Peppermint will take approximately 45 to 60
minutes to complete and join at first, once familiar with the pattern it take approximately 30 to 40 minutes a piece. To
complete the entire afghan it may take approximately 60 hours.

FIRST PEPPERMINT With Color 1, Ch 14 loosely. Fig A. shows the crochet chart that can be used
and repeated for Back Loop only rows.
Row 1: Sc in fifth Ch from hook (ring made), Hdc in next Ch, dc in next Ch, 2 dc in next Ch, dc
in next Ch, 2 Tr in next Ch, Tr in next Ch, work Cl (Cl uses last 3 Sts)
Row 2: Ch 1 loosely, turn; Sc in the third St from hook and each st across and in ring (total 10
Sc) changing to Color 2 in last Sc; Ch 1 and turn. DO NOT cut Color 1. Note: Hold unused
color to Ws now and throughout.
Row 3: (Rs facing and Bls only): Sc in next St, Hdc in next St, Dc in next St, 2 Dc in next St, Dc

only of sts on Row 24, skip first Sc on Row 24, Sl st loosely in each st across. Chain 4 turn to
Rs, continue instructions working trim and joining process, Page 4.

Rnd 1: With right side facing, join Color 1 with Sc st in any Ch 3 sp, Ch 4, Sc st in the next chain 3 space.
Repeat from around in ALL open spaces around edge; join with Sc st to first Sc st, finish off.
Rnd 2: With right side facing, join Color 2 with Sc st in any ch-4 sp; Ch 4, drop loop from hook, insert hook
from front to back, pick up loop again, yarn over pull through loop on hook, Ch 4 .Repeat from around; join with
Sc st to first Sc st, finish off.
