Teacher Suggestions:
1. Make an interest center. Have models, pictures, word cards, real fruit and
vegetables arranged in a basket or a bowl, and seeds for matching. Include
poems, stories, recipes, riddles, and books.
2. Make a writing center with fruit and vegetable shaped booklets, paper word
lists, dictionaries, assorted sizes of pencils and markers, and stickers.
3. Display Word Charts/Bulletin Boards. Word cards are included in this bundle.

4. Have a Taste Day where children can sample unusual or least common fruits
and veggies.
5. Play Fruits and Veggie Quiz. Have fruit and veggies in a bag. Students
guess the fruit or veggie by feel or play 20 questions to guess the fruit or veggie.
6. Plan Trips to the farm, market, grocery store, or go to a cooking class.
7. Make Veggie Robots. Make robots out of veggie that students can eat.
8. Have a cooking centre with recipes, fruits and vegetable toys, and
measuring cups.
9. Classification Activities. Make several copies of the fruit and veggie picture
cards and word cards for matching (included in this bundle). Students can
classify them by:

Tutti-Frutti Punch
You need
A variety of fruits
Apple slices
Orange slices
Banana bits
Raisins
3 litres apple cider
2 trays ice cubes
Put ice cubes and fruit in a
large bowl. Add apple cider.
Stir and serve.
Stuffed Celery
You need
Celery
Cheese spread
Pea butter
Wash the celery. Cut each
stalk into 3 pieces. Stuff the
celery with cheese spread or
peanut butter. Arrange on a
plate. Serve.
Guacamole Dip
You need
1 ripe avocado
1 ripe tomato
2-3 tsp mayonnaise
1 tsp ml lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste

You need

12. Make a Food Cube. On one side of a cereal box paste pictures of
vegetables. On the other side of the box paste pictures of fruit.
13. Make Print Art. Make an interesting shape on a piece of paper of a fruit or
vegetable. Use the stamp pad to cover your shape.
14. Make a Fruit or Veggie Person. Use crayons or pastels to draw a person
made of vegetables and fruit. Print the name of the fruit or vegetables you
used.
15. You Are What You Eat! Paint a paper plate. Draw or paste pictures of fruit
and vegetables to make the eyes, nose, mouth and hair.
16. Underground Veggie Town. Draw or paint a picture of what vegetables look
like as they are growing underground.
