WINCATT SOFTWARE ERROR MESSAGES

Error 7 occurred at new file


Lab view file not found or v1-488- non- existent board.

Solution 1: Step 1. Exit Wincatt


Step 2. Go back in to Wincatt and load up an old job
Step 3. Go to utility menu and make default on the old job
Step 4 Exit Wincatt.
Step 5 Start Wincatt again, go to home menu and Set up the new job.
Use solution 2 only if solution one doesnt work
Solution 2: Step 1: Exit Wincatt
Step 2: Right Click on Start My Computer
Step 3: Click on C: Drive and look for the Build 54 or 55 folder.
Step 4 Open The Build 55 or 54 folder and double click on setup
Step 5: Click finish on the Wincatt installation window
Step 6: Start Wincatt again.

- Security word is already logged in.


Solution: Step 1: Click on ok, if nothing happens then continue running.
Step 2: If the error stays in the Wincatt screen click on file and exit to exit the
Wincatt software.
Step 3: Open up the Wincatt enclosure take out the blue security usb key.
Make sure there is no damage to the key and plug it back in the
Laptop. If the security is damaged Call Farr Canada.
Step 4: Restart Wincatt If problem exist Call Farr Canada.

Data buffer over flow. Please request data less frequently

Solution: Step 1: Click on ok on the pop up window and remake up the


Connection.
Step 2: If getting this error message a lot Go to the utility menu, then
edit preference ( password is farr001)
Step 3: Increase the min Tq trigger or increase the time trigger, or both.

Under test and config screen if torque output and turns output display
NAN

Solution: Step 1. Restart computer start wincatt again going in to Test and Config
Zero the torque and zero the Turns.

Under Test and Config Screen if the dump Valve button stays Open

Solution: Step 1. Replace the PCMCIA Dac Card. The Dac Card is damaged.
Replace the PCMCIA cable.

Wincatt hardware errors:

If the dump valve is not working .

Solution: Step 1. Check dump valve cable. Replace if the cable is damaged.
Step 2. Check the 24 Solenoid. Replace if the Solenoid is damaged
Step 3. Check the 1 Amp fuse. Replace if its damaged.
Step 4. Check the Dump valve Cartridge. Replace if its damaged.
Step 5. Check the C/T cable replace if its damaged.

Encoder is not working. Wincatt is not reading turns.

Solution: Step 1. Check the encoder cable. Replace if its damaged.


Step 2. Check the encoder. Replace if its damaged.
Step 3. Check the encoder gear to make its on the encoder shaft.
Step 4. Check C/T cable. Replace if its damaged.

If Wincatt torque reading is less torque than what the tong is actually
putting out. Or Wincatt is not reading torque at all (Hydraulic load cell)

Solution: Step 1. Check the load cell connection to the remote box.
Step 2. Check and make sure right load cell is selected in Wincatt. Make sure
The load Cell is calibrated correctly in the Wincatt system.
Step 3. If using hydraulic load cell make sure the load cell is fully
Pumped up.
Step 4. Make sure the right Tong arm length and the right load cell has
Been selected.
Step 5 Check C/T cable. Replace if its damaged.

If Wincatt are reading less torque than what the tong is actually putting
out. Or Wincatt not reading torque (Electronic load cell)

Solution: Step 1: Check the load cell cable. Replace if its damaged.
Step 2: Check The load cell. Replace and try it with a different load cell.
Step 3: Check the C/T cable. Replace if its damaged.
Step 4: Check the 1/16 amp fuse in the Remote junction box.
Step 5: Change and replace the junction the amplifier might be damaged.
Step 6: Again make sure the Tong Arm length is correct in the Wincatt setting.
Make sure the correct load cell calibration is used.

No Power to the Wincatt unit or the Wincatt controller card

Solution: Step 1: Check the 2 Amp Fuse. Replace if damaged


Step 2: Check the 24V power supply. Replace if Damaged.
