 Plot
Landon Carter is a teenager part of a band. One night, all of his gang went to an
industry and said to a boy that he had to jump from a trampoline if he wants to
enter on the band. When the boy jumped, he got hurt and suddenly, the police
came. Everyone else could escape from the police but Landon couldnt. The
next morning the principal of his high school threated Landon from expulsing
him if he doesnt do social services that include helping on Saturdays to other
students and participating to the play of the school.

Meanwhile the play rehearsals, he could deeply meet the main character of this
performance, Jaime Sullivan, a nerd girl who likes to help other people and
believes in miracles. Trough days, after school Jaime and Landon secretly met
to practice the lines but, at school, Landon kept treating Jaime quite bad. After
the play, Landon started to feel a little bit in love with Jaime so he ask her father,
the Reverend Sullivan, if he could start dating with her daughter. During all this
days, Jaime showed Landons a notebook with a list of all the things she wishes
do before dying.

Landon started to make all of her wishes come true one by one but, one night,
when they were going for a walk; Jaime brought Landon into a narrow street
and told him that he had leukemia. After this night, Landon tried so hard to
make each and every one of her wishes come true but she started to get really
sick. One night, Landon when to his fathers house and ask him if he could do
something for Jaime because his father was a doctor but he said that it was not
that easy so Landon got really angry with him.

A couple days later, Landons father proposed to bring Jaime home and made
the treatments there.

Step by step, all Jaimes wishes were coming true while Landon made his list
until, one day, Landon made Jaimes first wish come true: They got married.
But, at the end, Jaime couldnt survive to cancer and died.

Description of the characters

Landon Carter: Hes a popular teenager member of a gang who likes make
fun of other teenagers. One day, the Principal threated with
expulsing him from high school if he doesnt
accomplish the punishment, that consist on
participating in various after-school activities like
tutoring disadvantaged children and
performing in the drama club's spring musical.
Doing these activities he deeply meets a girl
name Jaime Sullivan. During the film, the
personality of the boy change considerably, at the
beginning he was a revel but as he gets to know Jaime,
he starts to be really handsome and tries to make her the happiest girl in the
world until her death.

Jaime Sullivan: Shes a teenager quite different from Landons friends.

Jaimes not the typical cool teenager that is in style, that has a lot of friends and
a gang and humiliate the other people like Landons friends do; She rather be
helpful and pleasant to all the people, although they are most of the times rude
to her. Shes the daughter of a reverend and a lot of people define her like the
girl who defies miracles. During the film shes so kind, lovely, even she kept
helping Landon with his lines after he humiliate her. Another important part of
her personality is that she always tries to find
the positive part of everything, including in the
worst moments of life, she doesnt want to
think about reasons to be angry with.

Reverend Hegbert Sullivan: Hes a reverend

and Jaimes father. He lost her wife during Jaimes
birth and he had to raise her alone. Hes quite
protector and conservative, but all he wants is
Jaimes happiness and he would do anything just to
see her happy, thats why, during the film, he starts
to accept Landon as Jaimes boyfriend although he
dont like Landon or his friends.

Cynthia Carter: Shes Landons mother.

Shes so kind and sweet and shes always trying
to understand him. Cynthia is also telling Landon
that, although his dad left them, he has to learn
to forgive him.
 Similar situations
I cant find any important similar situations with the film because, hopefully none
of my friends have an important illness like cancer and no one have to do some
challenges to enter in a group. I also dont get , the only things I can find similar
to my life is that, in the school, there are different groups and, sometimes, the
popular groups make fun of the others, but in the film, I think that they made
Landons group a little over the top with being popular or being cool because, at
list where I live and in my school, is less exaggerated, and they dont arrive at
some points like when in the film the girl printed those posters, but we have to
think that the film was recorded in the United States, and there may be like that.

Surprising scenes.
There are some surprising scenes in the film, but, for me, the most surprising
scene, and also one of the saddest in the film was when Jaime went to a little
street with Landon and tells him that she was diagnosed with leukemia two
years ago, that scene made me understand some of the sentences she said
before like: Please, dont fall in love with me. I was also surprised by the end,
because I thought and hoped that, with the home treatments, Jaime would get
cured and she finally would survive from cancer and live with Landon from the
rest of their lives, like a fairytale, but this showed that, in real live, thats not
sometimes like this. Another surprising part of the film was when Landons ex-
girlfriend a girl who was in love with Landon printed some posters that appeared
a girl with underwear with the face of Jaime Sullivan and with the phrase: Virgin
Mary?; This part surprised me not for the poster, but for the part that a girl can
do that because shes jealous, I think is just not normal to arrive to this limits of
humiliation.
 My ending
I could imagine so many other endings for this film going from the worsts
endings like: he broke up with her after she explains to him that she has cancer,
until the best love endings, but I think my favorite ending would be like this:

After Jaime talks with Landon, he does everything he could to earn money and
give her the best treatment possible: He does benefic football matches, he finds
a job, he sells his guitars and other valuable objects Doing all this things and,
with the collaboration of their parents, he could bring her to one of the best
hospitals in the country to continue with her treatments. During chemotherapy,
something goes wrong and Jaime stays in a coma. During one week or two, she
doesnt wake up and Landon is with her all the time but, one morning, when
Landon arrives to the hospital, he found her awake and, finally, she survives
from cancer and they stay together for the rest of their lives.

I know thats kind of a typical fairytale, but thats why I put the complications
during the chemotherapy, because, with that, the end has a lot more emotion
and, finish the way I like.
 Films language
The film was filmed in the United States and the cast were from there too, so
the accent was American. Thats probably the reason why the film was so easy
to understand, because Im used to watch movies and series form the USA and
its pretty easy to understand for me, just the opposite with Braveheart, that was
an Scottish accent, and Im not used at that accent.

Music
I think the soundtrack of this film is brilliant. I actually heard a couple of these
songs in my dance academy before seeing the film like Cry or Someday well
know and I didnt know they were from the movie. I think that the lyrics of the
songs were pretty easy to understand, although the high notes were a little bit
more difficult.
 The message
This film has a lot of messages but a few of them are more important than the
others. The most important message is the unconditional love that they show. In
the film shows that, a person, Landon, its capable of keeping love and happy
with a girl that was not in his popularity level and, most important, he know she
was ill and she might not survive from cancer. The easiest, but also immoral,
solution was cutting with her and forgets about all the problems he went through
all the film, but, he did the opposite: Not only he kept dating with her, but he
made all she wished before she died. Another important message that the
movie give to us is the way we can see the problems or the difficult moments of
live. In the film, Jaime shows to us that, during the difficult times, we try to find
someone or something the be angry with, because, doing that, we thing that the
problem or the situation is smaller, because were not the main cause of it, but,
Jaime does absolutely the opposite: instead of looking for responsible for her
illness, she tries to think in positive and, she finally things that God made her be
sick and send him to be with her. I think that kind of seeing the world is a life
lesson to everybody.
