    In ancient Kemet (Egypt) a spiritual reciprocity Renpet (new year) existed be-
    tween the people and the land. The round zodiac of Dendera is a star map, portray-
    ing the heavens overhead at a certain time.

    The inner circle of figures, which move counterclockwise like the stars, shows the
    astrological signs of the zodiac circling around the North Pole, which is symbolized
    by the jackal. The outer circle of figures represents the 36 decans, each one symbol-
    izes the ten day weeks of the Kemetic year. The 12 figures outside of the circle rep-
    resent the 12 months of the year and their arms, the 24 hours of the day.
