Objective
I am a dedicated and hardworking person who wants to help the future youth of our nation through both typical and atypical approaches
in the educational field. I aspire to be an elementary school teacher and then eventually in my career transition into the field of guidance
counseling so I will have the life experience of helping students when they are young and then again when they are older.

Experience
Academic Peer Mentor January 2016 December 2016
This position is a part of residence life and housing and I worked primarily with freshman students to help them academically adjust
with their college course loads.
I assisted students with scheduling, organizational skills, time management and study skills.
I also oversaw undergraduate students on a daily basis, checking in on how their classes are going and to see how they have been
doing on tests/assignments in order to potentially fix any problems they may have.

Philanthropy Chair Theta Chi August 2015 May 2016

This position required for me to plan and participate charity events for my fraternity to participate in, so we would become more
involved within the Cortland/Tompkins County community.
I planned an event with another Fraternity Organization, so we could hold an annual hockey game so we would be able to raise
money for my fraternitys main organization, which is the United Service Organization.
Through this position I gained one-on-one experience working with the community surrounding SUNY Cortland and it has helped to
develop my socialization skills as well as my organizational skills.

Education
State University of New York at Cortland August 2014 Present
My education at the State University of New York at Cortland has primarily focused on Early Childhood/Childhood Education, a
concentration in Social Sciences as well as my minor in Psychology of Children with Exceptionalities. Through my classes I have been
enrolled in at my university I have acquired many skills that will benefit me in my future career such as: lesson planning and observing
th
classrooms for over 150 hours between the Birth - 6 Grade levels.

Skills
I have a plethora of skills that are at my disposal through my education as well as my past working experiences. I have exemplary
socialization skills because both job positions I held focused primarily on being able to work with and help others. I also possess
organizational skills, which in a classroom will be extremely beneficial. Another skill-set I have are my time management skills because of
my job as an academic peer mentor and being time efficient as a future teacher will prove to be a rather beneficial skill in a professional
setting.
