In the corporate world, I have spent nearly 4.

5 years working with two fortune 500


companies -Tata Motors and ONGC- in production, field operations and project consultancy
profiles . At Tata motors I got an opportunity to manage post sales field operations. It was an
extremely dynamic job profile and gave a wonderful opportunity of managing the entire post
sales field operation . As a graduate trainee I had undergone extensive techno - commercial
training supporting all the products across the service network of Tata Motors . Later as a part
of training assignment , I was suppose to manage the field operation in Ahmedabad region .
During the assignment I had implemented several schemes for efficient field operations . It
included scheduling of visits at various service centres for attending product issues and policy
compliances . I also had to management the inventory of spares for the allotted service region
amounting to more than a million dollars and carried out implementation of updated ERP
systems at all Tata service partners in the region, leading to savings on account of efficient and
timely repairs and 20 % lower downtime for vehicles requiring repairs. I also implemented
green initiative wherein all the toxic oil and solid waste was to be recycled . This not only made
the business eco-friendly ,but also added to the net revenues and higher profits. Bus rapid
transit system (BRTS) was also the part of my assignment and got an opportunity to streamline
service issues for the BRTS buses which could only be attended post midnight . Dedicated team
and optimal spares inventory were some of the initiatives which led to more efficient operation
of BRTS buses supported by Tata motors . My performance and initiatives in streamlining the
operations in the assignment helped me gain top annual performance grade at TATA Motors.

Later I cleared All India ONGC entrance exam and got an opportunity to work in the IOGPT an
in-house production consultancy & R&D centre. As a part IOGPT , I manage and troubleshoot
production and operation challenges for over 5000 oil and gas wells producing 60 million cubic
meter of oil per day along with a team of senior consultants and engineers .I work as a
production consultant on projects ranging from production optimization to development
projects for new fields. The projects require extensive field visits and networking with the field
engineers for understanding the challenges and acquisition of data. Thereafter the data is
processed for creating simulations of the oil and gas fields through various software and
analytic tools and subsequent analysis is presented to the top management in the form of
comprehensive schemes for development and enhancement of oil and gas production. Post
approval subsequent plans are devised in consultation with field operation teams and the
project implementation is monitored in real time .
In one of my Mumbai offshore project, new artificial design scheme along with other factors
resulted in a production gain of 1,000 barrels of oil per day leading to a revenue gain of over 2
million dollars in the financial year 2014-15 . In another critical project ,there was a severe
increase in tubing failure for deviated rod pumped wells and its troubleshooting was given as a
top priority project to the ONGC 's In-house consultancy and R&D centre -IOGPT. At IOGPT, I
was assigned this task as I had dealt with other troubleshooting problem in rod pumped wells in
the past . After doing extensive simulations ,a comprehensive solution along with changes in
operational practices was presented to the management . The successful implementation of
the recommendation reduced the downtime and the subsequent production loss leading to
highly efficient operation and availability of rigs of other critical wells . In these projects I have
learnt to take decisions, develop strong professional networks & enhanced my analytical and
communication skills. I also cleared the internal auditor certification for various quality
standards including ISO9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 and have been actively involved
improving the consultancy practices and procedures through audits and implementation as per
the guidelines of the standards . In one of the initiatives for improving the data management
process for the various consultancy projects , I had proposed and created an online data bank
for the various consultancy projects , along with a team of professional and is now being
extensively used at IOGPT for accessing and sharing information for current projects .

As an extension to my experience in operations consulting I see myself working with a product


or services organization in a leadership role , managing the entire product value chain from
logistics to operations. From my past work experience , I understand that there is a huge scope
of improvement across the value chain in product based organization especially in the
developing economies. Therefore As a long term goal , I would like to start a boutique
consultancy firm, providing end to end product development, manufacturing and supply chain
solutions for these organizations in the developing countries such as Brazil, India , China and
later expand its to the clients in the developed economies .

I find Wisconsin Operations and Technology Management (OTM) MBA as a perfect match for
my career aspiration as it is one of the few schools in my knowledge that offers a specialized
program in my stream of interest. Moreover with unique opportunity of completing certificate
program in entrepreneurship I would be able to align my learning at Wisconsin along with my
long term future goals . Courses such as Design & Analysis of Manufacturing Systems , Logistics
Management &Enterprise Systems and Supply Chain Management would help me create
business value across the production systems value chain and support my short term goals .
Considering my long term goals I find courses like entrepreneurial finance along with
Business Strategy and Marketing Management as a great supplement for developing strong
background in setting up my boutique consultancy firm in the future.

I gained knowledge about various other opportunities at Wisconsin Business school through my
interaction with the current students .One of the most appreciated program was the Wisconsin
MBA Global Business Program (GBP) .Through this program , I would like to gain insight into
business and cultural setting of manufacturing hubs like Japan and China. Moreover I also look
forward to developing global business perspective through interaction with international
clients . I am also excited to participate in case competition like BigTen Case Competition and
unique short courses such as Six Sigma Green Belt Series and Project Management Certificate
Program and to connect , learn and gain from the rich experience of the top executives at
various organization through the mentor program .

I believe that a structured business program and a great learning environment along with
Wisconsin's specialized MBA in operation , Certificate course in entrepreneurship , Global
Business program, networking platform and peer learning would accentuate my expertise
stimulate my personal growth. All these factors together make Wisconsin school of business
my dream business school.
