Ethernet Adapters
Vertical wireway Ethernet adapters can be in any of the four positions shown.
Vertical-wireway Ethernet
Network Adapter Locations
1. Unplug any Ethernet cables that are connected to the adapter on the customer-facing side of the vertical wireway.
2. To remove the two screws that hold the adapter in place against the back of the vertical wireway, use a T30 Torx Driver with an extension.
The extension is likely necessary to remove the left screw because it is very close to the edge.
Ethernet Mounting
Cables Screws
3. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the adapter away to access the Ethernet connections behind it.
4. Disconnect each Ethernet cable, then remove the adapter.

Screws
IMPORTANT Ethernet cables have labels that can help determine which adapter port they originally plugged into. Keep the cable/port relationship intact to help retain
switch port-to-device mapping. It can be difficult to read the cable labels behind the vertical wireway.
IMPORTANT Ethernet cable lengths are automatically calculated to minimize excess cabling in the MCC. In some cases, excess cable length is not always available
behind the vertical wireway to pull out the adapter. It can be necessary to remove the unit next to the adapter to have more space to disconnect the cables
on the back side.
5. Install the new Ethernet adapter and connect the Ethernet cables into the back of the adapter.
6. Fasten the new adapter to the vertical wireway with the screws you removed in step 2.
TIP It is best practice to transfer the existing Ethernet adapter label over to the new adapter (for example, E-F). This label is used in the cable label string to help
affirm where cables are being connected.
24V DC Adapters
Vertical wireway 24V DC power adapters are in the two positions shown.
1. Use a precision screwdriver to loosen the four retaining screws of the front plugs, then remove the plugs.
2. To remove the two screws that hold the adapter into place against the back of the vertical wireway, use a T30 Torx Driver with extension.
The extension is likely necessary to remove the left screw because it is very close to the edge.

Plug Retaining Screws
3. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the adapter away from the vertical wireway to access the 24V DC connections behind it.
4. To unscrew the two retention screws on the back of the adapter, use a precision screwdriver.
5. Disconnect the wires on the back side of the adapter and remove the adapter.
IMPORTANT Specific wire lengths are used to minimize excess wiring in the MCC. Excess cable length is not always available behind the vertical wireway, making it
difficult to pull out the adapter. You can remove the unit next to the adapter to have more space to disconnect the cables on the back side.
6. Install the new 24V DC power adapter and connect the wires into the back of the adapter.
7. Secure the wires with two retention screws.
8. Align the adapter in place and fasten the new adapter to the vertical wireway with the screws you removed in step 2.
