SECTION D - ESSAYS
.
Essay 1 - Stage1
Option 1: Write about an incident or set of incidents in your life that had the most profound influence on you.
While writing this essay briefly mention the incident and the impact it has had on your life. (300 words max)
Option 2: How would you describe yourself as a person and what are the two qualities / skills / attributes
that you wish to further develop in yourself through the ISB Young Leaders Programme? (300 words max)
.
I want to do more, achieve more and give back to the society. I believe in going big and intend to be an
entrepreneur. I do not know if it is a blessing or curse, but I tend to get extremely involved with what is in
front of me, exemplified positively by my research in Hydrogen Energy and the Honda Young Engineers and
Scientist Award that I was honoured to receive. Following which, I interned at the University of Tokyo
researching on NEMS devices, since I could not find an entrepreneurial opportunity in hydrogen energy.
Having explored research and keeping in mind my long-term goal, I figured management science would be
more useful therefore I opted for the specialisation in Industrial Management for my masters. Learning
supply chain finance through online simulation made me feel the heat of decision making in a volatile market,
and I along with my friends are excited to represent India in the Global Student Challenge at Netherlands. To
thrive in teams requires interpersonal skills, faith and technical expertise - which I am trying to master. It
was an amazing experience when my team presented a B-plan to help refugees and ended up winning the
University round of the prestigious Hult Prize.
.
I wish to develop:
.
1. Excellent communication and networking skill are crucial to success in modern business environment. I
want to build this capability further through ISB where I shall have the opportunity to interact and work with
individuals from diverse backgrounds.
.
2. I would also like to imbibe in me the business aptitude required to take calculated business risks. ISB will
provide me with the right set of courses to develop the business acumen.
.
