Standard Operating Procedure for Chiller Logging

General Standard Operating Procedure (S.O.P) for Chiller Logging.

Logger Installation:
i. Install power logger on the chiller distribution board to monitor the power usage to
generate the chiller.
ii. Install Thermocouple Temperature Datalogger, KTT at supply and return chilled water
pipe for the period of 1 weeks. This is to record the chilled water temperature.

Flowmeter Installation:
iii. Install a flowmeter on chilled water supply pipe (CWSP) for a period of 24 hours.
iv. Auditor shall measure the circumference of the CWSP. From the measurement, outer
diameter of the CWSP will be obtained.
v. Outer cover of CWSP will be cut in specific length. Next, auditor will measure the
thickness of the insulator. This process is to get the diameter of the inner CWS pipe.
vi. After obtaining inner pipe diameter, flowmeter will be configure based on pipe chart
inside flowmeter manual. It will automatically determine sensor installation distance and
type of mounting.
vii. Based on the flowmeter configuration, auditor shall install the sensor on the inner pipe
surface with specific distance between sensor and its mounting type.
viii. Auditor will setup the flowmeter for data logging and leave the flowmeter for a duration
of 24 hours.
