EXERCISE 1
4. Select the table range where the data is placed, including the headings
5. Since this exercise requires the pivot table to be placed within the worksheet, choose the existing
worksheet option
6. Click on the cell where the table will be placed, in our case we chose K12.
7. Click ok
8. In the pivot table fields ,located on the right side of the worksheet, click on the Group name and
Quantity fields
9. The group name will automatically appear under rows and the sum of quantity will automatically
appear under the summation of values.
10. Select the a cell in the quantity column and then click data in the menu bar
11. Under the data tab, select sort from Highest to smallest
EXERCISE 3
4. Select the table range where the data is placed, including the headings
5. Since this exercise requires the pivot table to be placed within the worksheet, choose the existing
worksheet option
6. Click on the cell where the table will be placed
7. Click ok
8. Click all the fields under the pivot table fields
9. The different fields will automatically appear in the columns, rows and values areas.
10. Change the Row Labels Heading to Group Segment
11. Since the exercise dictates that the Sum of the member months be placed on the leftmost column,
drag the sum of member months field to the top under the summation of values area
12. Create another column adjacent to the pivot table with the heading Revenue PMPM and Expense
PMPM
13. Under those columns, input the formula for the Revenue/Expense PMPM which corresponds to the
quotient of the sum of the revenue and the sum of member months. Do it for all the group
segments
** =sum of revenue/ sum of member months **
**=sum of expense/sum of member months**
14. Select the data under that column and then right click and then a dialog box will appear
15. In the dialog box, select the Currency category and then change the symbol to $
16. Click OK
EXERCISE 4
1. Create another column with the header Net Income/Loss with the formula corresponding to the
difference between the revenue and the expense
5. Select the table range where the data is placed, including the headings
6. Since this exercise requires the pivot table to be placed within the worksheet, choose the existing
worksheet option
7. Click on the cell where the table will be placed
8. Click ok
9. Select everything under the pivot table fields and then all the fields will automatically appear under
the different areas.
EXERCISE 5
4. Select the table range where the data is placed, including the headings
5. Since this exercise requires the pivot table to be placed within the worksheet, choose the existing
worksheet option
6. Click on the cell where the table will be placed
7. Click ok
8. Under the Pivot Table Fields, select the necessary fields namely Group segment, expenses, service
month and paid month
9. Under the area fields, drag the group segments field to filters and service month to the columns
field. The Paid months automatically appears on the rows area, keep it as is.
10. The group segment will now appear on a different cell located above the table. Click the drop down
button and select big.
