ADJECTIVE FORMATION

A) Join these words to the prefixes and suffixes to form adjectives. More than
one combination is sometimes possible.
Some Adjectives are formed by adding –full, -ed, -ing:

 success + -full  successful


 beard + -ed  bearded
 Interest + -ing  interesting

You also form adjectives by adding an-, - less where you want to describe or refer to
things that are the opposite of the original word:

B) Write the correct adjective starting or ending in un-, -ing, -ed, -ful or –less

 That is a _________ word. It doesn’t mean anything to me (meaning).

 She is very untidy and __________ person. She doesn’t care about anything. (care)

 They are all __________ men. They aren’t afraid of anything.

 Don’t worry it’s a _________ extraction. It won’t hurt at all. (pain)

 It’s _______ to see such strange person. (usual)

 He can’t do anything. This means he is ________ to do anything correctly (able).
