My Teddy Bear
I have a favorite doll. It is an original Teddy Bear from America. Aunt Lily gave it to me last
year when she returned from her business trip in New York. I was very happy. I put it on a
cabinet next to my bed. Sometimes I use it as a pillow.
My Teddy Bear is very big, and the colour is brown. It is about 150 centimeters tall and the
width is about 50 centimeters. When I put it on my bed it will occupy half of it. It is almost as
big as my body. It is made of typical kind of fabric called rasfur. The head is round with the
size of 25 centimeters. It has two ears which located on top of its head. The shape of the ear
is half circle and the size is half of my palm. The colour of its eye is dark brown. I think it is
made of glass since I can see through it. It has a light brown ribbon encircling its neck. On the
sole of each foot, there is a paw pattern made of smooth fabric.

The word turtle can be used to refer to different species that are turtle, tortoise and
terrapin as they are in one family with relatively the same morphology and similar
appearance.
The biggest turtle in the world is giant tortoise Galapagos and the name is taken from its
habitat that is Galapagos Islands.
The Galapagos tortoise is not only big in size (more than 400 kg of weights and 1, 87 m of
lengths), but also has long lifespans in the wild over 150 years and this tortoise is the longest
live animal.
There is no predator for this turtle except human being and in 16 century it was known that
the numbers of population were 250.000.
The population of the Galapagos tortoise was decrease and in 1970 it was known that the
total numbers were 3000. The decline was caused by human over exploitation for the need
of meat and oil.
Since that, the conservation concerning this animal was started and at the beginning in the
20 century the thousands of juveniles were released onto that island.
Now the number of population is estimated to have exceeded more than 19.000.
This time, the International Union for Concervation of Nature classifies the whole species as
vulnerable.
Giant tortoise moves slowly and mostly at early in the morning or at the evening at the
grassing area.
In a day, it has to bask under the sun to heat its temperature. This tortoise sometimes rests
in the wallow of mud or water to protect it body from parasites.
Giant tortoise is an herbivore that eats any grasses, leaves, fruits, vegetables and so on. It
eats and drinks as much as possible and because it has slow metabolism, it can survive
without food and water for more than 6 mounts.
The tortoise can break down its body fat as a product of supplement to survive in a long
time without food and water. Thus, whenever it meets some food and water, it eats and
drinks as much as possible.

Stomachache
Orientation
I loved spicy foods so much. I ate them for my breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in
between them. When I didn’t taste a hint of chili in my food, I wouldn’t even bother
finishing it. Until one week ago, I was almost hospitalized for putting too much chili in my
meatballs.
Event
I was eating a bowl of my favorite meatball and put way too many spoons of sambal into it.
My stomach felt like it was on fire on the next day and I got diarrhea. I thought my
stomachhache would slowly leave me after I let my food out but it turned out that I had
more painful stomachache after. I felt like stomach gave up on me and I almost did the
same thing. My dad asked me to check my condition in the hospital but my mom told me to
let my food out one more time. I chose to did what my mom suggested, hoping it would
work because if it wouldn’t, I would have to follow my dad’s suggestion. It took time, but my
stomachache felt more bearable than before. Finally, after almost an hour, I was completely
stomachache-free.
Re-Orientation
My parents went strict on what I am eating after that day. They made me promise myself
not to eat anymore crazy amount of spicy food. Not that I completely quit on eating them,
but I have been recuding my consumption of them. I am still learning not to eat spicy food
anytime I want. It’s hard, but for the sake of my health, I am doing it anyway.
Thumbelina
Once upon a time, there was a kind woman who had no children, longed for a baby and
would often say, “How I would love to have a baby girl, even a tiny little one." A beautiful
fairy heard her wish one day, and gave her a little seed to plant in a flowerpot. When the
seed bloomed into a tulip, the woman saw a tiny, beautiful girl inside, no bigger than her
thumb. She decided to call her Thumbelina. She was so small that she had a walnut shell for
a bed and used petals as a blanket. Then, an ugly toad fell in love with Thumbelina.
One night when she was sleeping, he carried her off to his lily pad in a pond. Thumbelina
was very unhappy. A swallow was passing by and saw how sad she looked, and said, “Come
south with me to warmer lands." Young Thumbelina flew away on the swallow’s back. They
flew across the seas and came to a land of sunshine. The swallow said, " This is my home.
You can live in one of the loveliest and biggest flowers." When Thumbelina stepped inside,
she found a handsome fairy, as tiny as her, in its heart. He was the son of the king of flowers
and he fell in love with Thumbelina. He asked her to marry him. So Thumbelina became
queen of the flowers and the two lived happily ever after.
