Flow of Production Planning

The document describes the flow of production planning in SAP. It starts with receipt of a sales order which is checked for stock availability. If stock is available, it goes to production planning, otherwise a purchase requisition is generated. A bill of material defines the required materials and quantities. Work centers, activities, and routings are defined which specify the manufacturing process. An actual production order is then released and manufacturing takes place. Upon completion, the order is confirmed and goods are issued as the final step of production planning.
