Type Locality : Facet Island, south-east of the Misool Island, Misool Sheet, Irian Jaya
Description : Calcilutites, shale, chert beds in the lower part and tuffaceous calcilutite in the
upper part.
Fossil Content : Ptilorhynchia sp., Proclidonophora sp., Rotularia sp., Buchia sp., Ammonite,
Trace fossils
Stratigraphic Relationship : The Facet Limestone Group is conformably underlain and overlain by Fageo
Group and Fafanlap Formation respectively.

Stratigraphic Relationship : The Faumai Limestone disconformably rests on the Jass Formation.
Disconformably overlies theAifat Mudstone.

Remark : The unit was introduced by Lehner (1954), originally Woolley and Pieters (1936)
named it as Borelis Limestone. Visser & Hermes (1962) called as Faumai Fm.
