Dear Mrs. Cherry,

As a high school that is continually expanding and improving, Williamston High School must be
on the lookout for qualified teachers to aid in school growth. I have recently completed a
master’s program in teaching in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences. I am writing because
I am interested in the vacancy in your Family and Consumer Sciences department. I offer
knowledge and training in the field as well as completing a student teaching internship.

I believe that education is the key to success for young students. As a teacher, it is my goal to
provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to realize their full
potential. I have come to realize how vital education is to prepare young people to achieve
success throughout their life. I hope to instill a love of learning and a desire for constant
knowledge within each student.

As a student at East Carolina University, I have been very successful in learning the latest trends
in education and developing my craft through my student teaching experience. I have applied
my skills in Family and Consumer Sciences education, classroom management and
professionalism throughout my semester as a student teacher. I know that I can demonstrate the
same degree of success in working at your fine institution of learning.
