Unique and Relevant for Today's World"

In a world that is religiously divided, it is little wonder that people are confused about what to believe concerning Christ,
the Bible, church doctrine, and other matters related to faith. With so many different types of churches and denominations
offering its own style and substance of teaching, how can a sincere person seek and know the truth?

The non-sectarian Christian Church offers a simple solution to this complex issue. It is called Bible verification. The New
Testament describes how this method was used by a group of Christians in the city of Berea in Acts 17:10-11...

“Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the
synagogue of the Jews. These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all
readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” (New King James Version)

There it is, “searched the scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” In other words, Bible verification! In a
similar way, the Christian Church is committed to the same principle as the Bereans described above and remains
steadfast in its historical conviction about the Bible. “Where the Scriptures speak, we speak. Where the Scriptures are
silent, we are silent” originated with the pioneers of the Restoration Movement in the early 1800’s, and remains as the
guiding principle for the doctrine and practice of the Christian Church.

Rejecting man-made creeds and confessions of faith, the Christian Church advances the belief of spiritual unity of all
Christian people based on the Bible. The Christian Church believes that Jesus Christ alone is the head as well as the
foundation of the church. Therefore, individual obedient believers are saved and sustained by Him as members of His body
and are not subdivided into factions or denominational groups. The spiritual unity of God’s people transcends the man-
made barriers and/or denominational divisions. In other words, “we have no creed but Christ; no book but the Bible, no
name but the divine name - Christian” (see Acts 11:26). In our churches, we do not claim to be the only Christians but
have a simple desire to be Christians only.

The Christian Church is defined by its historical perspective that is summarized in the following way: “There is one book
(the Bible) which reveals one Savior who requires one faith that produces one body of believers through the ministry of the
Holy Spirit, all of whom are spiritually united in the one person of Jesus Christ.”
