Dear Sir:

I have the honor to submit my thesis proposal entitled, “MACASA: In-City


Medium Rise Socialized Housing” as a partial requirement for the degree of
Bachelor of Science in Architecture. With the main goal of developing an in-city
socialized housing project that will include the urban poor in the city’s urbanization
and growth. Instead of pushing them to the city’s outskirts, this will give them the
chance to also reap the benefits of urban growth. It also intends to improve the
quality of life the urban poor is experiencing in the city and provide them with a
more humane place to live. the following are its project objectives:

 To provide informal settler families in urban areas a better quality of life


and social engagement with the community
 To decrease losses caused by natural disasters focusing on the protection of
the people and the urban poor in vulnerable situations.
 To support positive social and environmental links between the city and the
urban poor by implementing resource efficiency and climate change
adaptation.
 To provide safe access to basic facilities and green and public spaces to
informal settler families.

Upon the approval of this proposal, it is understood that I shall proceed with the
research work and submit it on the designated date. Justification and other
requirements for the proposal are included herewith.
