What do we call these words?

Conjunction – is a word that connects or joins together


words, phrases, clauses or sentences. There are two kinds of
conjunctions. The coordinating and subordinating conjunctions (see
power point)

4. Guided Practice: (Power Point)

Read each group of subordinating conjunctions and the pair of


sentences in each item. Choose the best conjunction to combine
the sentence

5. Independent Practice: (Power Point)

Read the sentences in the first column. Find related sentences


in the second column. Look in the third column to find the best
conjunction to combine the sentence.

6. Closure Assessment: (Group activity)

Cut 5 pictures from the magazine/newspaper then paste them


on a bond paper. Use subordinate and coordinate conjunction to
form sentences that describe the pictures.

7. What is conjunctions? What are two kinds of conjunctions?

IV. EVALUATION:

Underline the appropriate subordinate or coordinate


conjunctions to complete the sentences. Refer to the power point

V. ASSIGNMENT:

List down 5 conjunctions, then write them in sentences.
