8 NE Discovery Procedure
5520 AMS R9.1.0 supports previous ISAM 4.3 Releases and ISAM 4.3.02 Release with
R4.3 plug v3.0.
This is the list of items recommended to take with you while going to site. Go
through this list before you go to a site-work.
As soon as the date/time of the activities confirmed, inform the Fixed Access
TAC/TSO group in your region. Share your MOP with the TAC team. It is a good
practice to ask them to review your MOPs. Since they are aware of many known-
issues, they can make some recommendations. During the activity, if you have any
issues you will need to raise a Support Ticket in order to get a remote support.

3. PRE-UPGRADE TASKS
This section will give detailed information about the tasks that needs to be done
before starting upgrade procedure.

Download the related release that is going to be installed from the Alcatel-Lucent
Market site: https://support.alcatel-lucent.com/portal/olcsHome.do

from the AMS GUI the software download & upgrade actions are commenced.
Entrance Criteria
Create a temporary folder in the AMS server that will be used during software
preparation. In the document,” Upgrade_SW” is the name of the temporary folder

2. Click on the “Perspective Menu (1) -> Software (2)” on AMS menu to open
the NE Software File Preparation window.
3. Right click on the “New SW Releases under Software Releases” and create
NW SW release.
5. Select the proper SW file from the table and press to “Finish”.
2. Pick up “Download Software to NE” on “SW Tasks” menu and click on “Add”
button to choose NE’s to download new software.

3. Select any filter and press to “Build List” choose NE’s on 5520 AMS and click
on Finish.

2. There should be “ISAM” folder in extracted files. Double click the “ISAM” folder
and move the “L6GPAA43.279” and “L6GQAA43.279.tar” files to TFTP root folder
of the related AMS server(for 5520 AMS R9.1 “/ams/swm/ne”).
3. Give an IP address to your personal computer in the same network with ISAM.
4. Edit the “L6GPAA43.170” descriptor file with “vi editor”. Edit the path and
filename of the software package file “L6GQAA43.170” also IP address of the TFTP
server.
