Task:
1. The piston rod of the single acting cylinder should extend after the button has been actuated and
remain extended as long as the button is pushed.
2. The pressurized air is supplied by an air service unit and by the compressed air distributor.
3. The circuit diagram is to be drawn.

Task:
1. The basic position of the piston rod of the single-acting cylinder is extended.
2. After actuating the push-button, the piston on the single-acting cylinder should retract and remain
retracted as long as the button is pushed.
3. The circuit diagram is to be drawn.
Instructions to student
1. Please prepare a lab report based on the guideline provided in Task 1 (Functional diagram and
Pneumatic circuit diagram).
2. All the results must be acknowledged by the instructor.

Task:
1. The piston rod of a double-working cylinder should extend after actuating a button.
2. After releasing the button, the piston on the cylinder should retract automatically to its back
position.
3. The circuit diagram is to be drawn and be marked with the connection symbols.
Instructions to student
1. Please prepare a lab report based on the guideline provided in Task 1 (Functional diagram and
Pneumatic circuit diagram).
2. All the results must be acknowledged by the instructor.
Objectives:
1. To construct pneumatic functional diagram, electro-pneumatic circuit diagram and electric circuit
diagram
2. Perform installation of related system according to design requirement
3. Prepare technical report based on lab outcomes

Task:
1. After actuating control switch S3 (continuous cycle), the piston rod of a double-acting cylinder Z1
extends and after reaching the front end position retracts again. This procedure repeats itself as
long as switch S3 remains “ON”.
2. Additional requirement: after briefly actuating push button S0, the cylinder should extend and
retract once (single cycle).
3. It should be possible to reduce the extension speed.
4. An electrically controlled 5/2 directional control impulse valve is used as an actuator. Cylinder
switches are available as limit switches.
5. The functional diagram is to be drawn up, the pneumatic circuit diagram supplemented; the
electric circuit diagram is to be drawn up using the symbols of electrical equipment according to
DIN/ISO.
