1 Working with Message Implementation
Guidelines

You use this procedure to create and work with a message implementation guideline. that describes the content
and structure of digital business documents that you want to use in your business transactions of business-to-
business processes in your business scenarios. You create a message implementation guideline by using
predefined message type template, so that it covers the needs and semantics of your required business scenario.

1.1 Creating a Message Implementation Guideline

You use this procedure to create a message implementation guideline specific to your business scenarios.

Context

Procedure

1. Launch SAP HANA Cloud Integration web application.


2. Choose the Design tab.

3. Choose Create Message Guideline .


4. Perform the following substeps in the Create Message Guideline screen of the dialog box that appears:
a. Choose the Select Template tab.
b. Choose the required template.
You get the following predefined templates in the B2B Libraries column:
○ IDoc
○ ISO
○ FSN CDM
○ B2B_Test
c. Choose Next.
d. In the Enter MIG Details tab, enter the following details:
○ Message Implementation Guideline Name
○ Message Implementation Guideline Version

e. In the Assign Business Context tab, choose to add the required business context to your message
guideline.

You get the following business contexts:
○ Business Partner
○ Geo Political
○ Business Process
○ Business Process Roles
○ Industry Classification
f. Select a responsible agency from the dropdown list.
g. Choose Next.
h. Choose the following in the Business Context screen:

○ Industry Classification
○ Business Process
○ Business Process Role
○ Geo Political
○ Business Partner

You can choose multiple business contexts at a time. Choose under a business context to add their
respective entities.
5. Choose Review Parameters to view the message guideline.
6. Choose Previous to make changes in the previous tabs.
7. Choose Save to keep the changes.
8. Choose Finish to publish it in the Discover tab.
9. Choose Cancel to exit the creation of message implementation guideline.

1.2 Editing a Message Implementation Guideline

You use this procedure to modify exisiting message implementation guidelines when the predefined content in
them needs to be enhanced.

Context

Procedure

1. Launch SAP HANA Cloud Integration web application.


2. Choose the Design tab.
3. Select <message guideline name> from the list of Message Guidelines.
4. Choose Edit.

5. In the <message guideline name> view, choose the Message Guideline tab to view a message guideline details.
6. Choose Previous to make changes in the previous tabs.
7. Choose Preview to view the defined message guideline.
8. If you want to view the list of suggested message guidelines relevant to your business scenario, then perform
the following substeps:
a. Choose Propose.
b. In the Proposal Query Builder dialog box, choose Add New Condition to search message guidelines
relevant your business scenario.
c. If you want to include more than one search condition, choose And.
d.
e. If you want to use only one search condition, choose Or.
f. Choose OK.

9. Choose to add notes to a message implementation guideline in the Notes tab.


10. Choose Save to keep the changes.
11. Choose Cancel to undo the modifications.

1.3 Creating a Mapping Guideline

Procedure

1. Launch SAP HANA Cloud Integration web application.


2. Choose the Design tab.

3. Choose Create Mapping Guideline .


4. Perform the following substeps in the Create Mapping Guideline screen of the dialog box that appears:
a. In the Enter Mapping Guideline tab, enter Name and Version.
b. Choose Next.
c. In the Select Source Message tab, select required source MIG from the list.
d. Choose Next.
e. In the Select Target Message tab, select the target MIG from the list.
f. Choose Next.
g. In the Review Parameters tab, read through your selections and choose Finish.
○ If you want to change anything in the previous tabs, choose Previous.
○ If you want to discard the mapping guideline creation, choose Cancel.
○ If you get a proposal for your mapping, choose Save.
○ If you do not get any proposals, choose Cancel to start over.
