    TO THE APPROPRIATE JUDICIAL AUTHORITY IN TAIPEH,


    CHINA

    WHEREAS, a certain suit is pending in the Court of First


    Instance of Manila, Philippines, in which A. B. is plaintiff and
    C. D. is defendant, and it has been shown to us that there are
    witnesses hereinbelow named, who are residing within your
    jurisdiction, without whose testimony justice cannot
    completely be done between said parties.

    We therefore, request you, in furtherance of justice and


    after the proper and usual process, to cause said witnesses to
    appear before you or some competent person appointed by you
    for that purpose, at a precise time and place by you to be fixed,
    and there to answer on their oaths and affirmations the written
    interrogatories annexed hereto; and to cause their depositions
    to be committed to writing, and returned to us under cover
    duly closed and sealed. We shall be ready and willing to do the
    same for you in a similar case when requested.
