CTR8540 COMMISSIONING GUIDE (1+0)

Note: Assuming that the Software Version is 3.x.x and all equipment’s are out of the box.
1. SET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS: (COM PORT - SERIAL)
Comport-Serial Settings: (MAINT V.24 Port) Select Serial (connection type) and COM port Assigned

CONFIGURE THE RADIO LINK USING GOOGLE CHROME BROWSER

2. Set all slots to detected plugin types Equipment > Right click UNIVERSAL SLOT then click Set all slots to
detected plugin types, then click save.

3. Set the Date & Time first (System Configuration > Date & Time) date today and UTC +08:00, 24 hour
setting, then click apply, and then save. You can also sync to computer date and time.
4. Enable all Ethernet ports (Switching & Routing Configuration >Port manager) then check all port
(enable), then click apply, then save.

5. ACTIVATING RADIO LINKS (Radio Configuration > Radio Links)

6. SET TRANSPARENT ENABLE (BOTH SITES). Enable the timer for 5 minutes (300 seconds) then Enable the
Transparent VLAN Mode.

Apply and Save. (Revert timer will automatically disable)


7. CONFIGURE MANAGEMENT VLAN & IP ADDRESS. Create VLAN 4083 by adding in Switching & Routing
Configuration > VLAN > VLAN configuration. Tagged the interfaces (Gi 0/9 and Ra 2/1 for AN, Gi Ra 2/1
on the far end).

Check the Management IP Address checkbox of the VLAN 4083 while the revert-timer is enable then
input the IP Address from DCN plan and set as the Primary Management. Delete VLAN 2
The system will pop up for the new IP Address of the management. You need to change your laptop IP
Address with the same subnet of the MWR. Apply and Save

8. CONFIGURE VLAN 110 FOR PSEUDOWIRE (CEM E1). Add another VLAN 110 and select to Tagged
Interfaces member port Ra 2/1.
9. Change the Pseudowire Global Setting > Recovery Clock Freq. to 125MHz and Reboot the MW before
creating E1 Circuits.

*Note: Reboot the MW radio before

10. Set the Clock Synchronization Network Sync Configuration > Interface Synchronization.
A. Site B (AN).
B. Site A (Far End). Network Sync Configuration > Interface Synchronization

Network Clock (wait to restore = 1)


Network Sync Sources (Add to port ra 2/1, ESMC Enable then check the Lock to Source)

11. CREATE THE E1 CIRCUIT USING BROWSER

Copy the Mac Address of the Link-


up Site

Paste the copied MAC-ADDRESS

Assign Unique VCID

Assign the created VLAN 110


12. CONFIGURE SNMP STRING and LOGGING for NETWORK ELEMENT (NE) uploading to NMS Server. Use
putty via IP Address of the NE.

Login as: root


Password: admin123

13. Download Backup file in System Configuration > Admin > Configuration Management.
