Application Details
Consumption / Dosage 12 – 30 kg/ m³.
The minimum dosage calculation should be based on spacing theory according to
Romualdi & Mandels’ equation.
S= 13.8d√ 1/ Vf
(d- diameter, Vf- volume fraction)

Application Method/ Mixing:

Tools Preferably produce the Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete in a central batching plant
mixer.
Never add the fibres as the first material in the mixer!
Fibers can be added together with the aggregate or directly into freshly mixed
concrete.
Mixing time is not increased significantly with the addition of fibers. Mixing must
proceed until all glued fibres are separated individually.
Drum mixer
Weighed quantity can be added directly into the drum mixer.
Run the mixer drum at a speed of 12 – 18 rpm. Adjust the slump to a minimum of
12 cm, depending on the actual fiber dosage. Preferably use a water reducing or
high range water reducing admixture. Add the fibers at the rate of 60 kg/min. After
adding the fibers, continue mixing at full speed for at least 5 minutes.
It is advisable to carry out trial mixers to achieve the required concrete properties.
Placing and finishing:
Use of internal and external vibrator is recommended.
The use of surface hardener t o achieve a smooth and hardened surface will also
help to cover fibers close to the surface.
Do not use wood float.
