Write an essay about the things that you did during the holidays.

Holidays are usually the best time of the year for students and families. It is also a great time
to travel and relax from constant work for working adults and piles of homework for students.
There are a lot of ways people could spend their holidays, such as swimming and hiking for
extroverts or reading a book and giving a hand around the house for introverts. I want to share
the things that I did during the recent holidays.
I did a lot of things during the holidays. For the first few days, I would finish the homework I
was given before the holidays because I don’t want to burden myself, especially towards the end
of the holidays. I had to do a lot, such as Islamic Studies, Malay Language, Science and my
tuition homework to which I need to finish one per day.
Other than that, I also went shopping with my family. Throughout the course of the holiday,
we went to two well-known outlets, AEON and Design Village. I usually prefer to go to AEON
because I could purchase books from Popular or Borders but, we also went grocery shopping
there too. Next, we went to Design Village to buy me a new pair of glasses because my eyesight
is apparently terrible according to my family but, I can see just fine without them.
On Thursday, March 28, my family and I, excluding my older brother, went to Penang
International Airport to catch a flight to Denpasar Bali via Singapore. We took SilkAir and
Singapore Airlines, which is the parent company of SilkAir. We had about a three-hour layover
in Singapore. During that layover, my mother went to do some shopping in Terminal 3.
When we arrived in Bali, which was nightfall by the time we got thrtr, we were stopped
shortly after disembarking the aircraft. At that moment, my heart just dropped, I thought we were
going to be detained but, I thought of the worst, they were apparently like chaperones who were
assigned by the resort that were staying at, Bulgari Resort. We got to skip the ridiculously long
queue at immigration by taking the priority lane, lucky me.
Our stay at Bulgari was fantastic and luxurious, we went to the spa, ate at a nice restaurant in
the resort, and got to meet my mother’s friend who brought his girlfriend to Bali too. From what
I learnt, she spoke Chinese and very little English and she taught ballet in Japan, but at that point,
my head had enough and just wanted to burst. On the last two days, we went out to eat dinner at
a restaurant but got caught in heavy traffic, it lasted for about an hour.
Anyways, on Sunday, the last day of our stay, we waved goodbye and a hotel taxi drove us to
the airport. Before checking in, we went to a souvenir shop and I noticed they sold some
handheld fans similar to the one I saw on the last day in Japan two years ago, it had a price tag of
RM100 when converted, I didn’t buy it as I already have one of nearly the same value at home to
which I bought accidentally. We also to the same airlines back to Penang and when we got there,
my brother picked us up and drove us home. I wished to have another splendid holiday in the
upcoming future and I was grateful to live in a family like this.
