Contents
The positive tolerance on power input to the pump set at duty point shall be limited to the
value, if indicated in Data Sheet. Otherwise the tolerance is governed by the tolerances on
pump capacity and efficiency of the pump set.
NPSH tests:
NPSH tests shall be conducted with water as the medium to demonstrate the ability of the
pump to draw the water the designed suction lift.
7.0 DRAWINGS, INSTRUCTIONS & MAINTENANCE MANUAL, TEST REPORTS ETC. AFTER
AWARD OF CONTRACT.
7.1 Contractor before commencing with shop fabrication and within 30 days from receipt of order
shall prepare and submit to purchaser for approval four (4) sets of his quality assurance
plans giving detail time schedule preferably in the time PERT/CPM net work covering various
phases e.g. Preparation of shop drawing, procurement of material, manufactures, assembly,
inspection testing, delivery to site etc.
7.2 Within three (3) weeks from the date of receipt of order the contractor shall submit four (4)
copies of list of drawings he proposes to submit for approval before commencing with shop
manufacture. These drawings shall include general arrangement drawings of pump coupled
to motor giving dimensions, nozzle details etc., Cross sectional assembly drawing of pumps
giving fabrication details, component details and bill of materials with material of construction
etc., foundation drawings giving loading data and grouting details, etc. motor dimensional
drawings showing the terminal boxes and method of purchaser cable termination etc. these
drawings when approved in writing by the purchaser. Any prior approval work done without
purchaser’s approval shall be at a contractor’s risk.
7.3 After drawings are approved contractor shall furnish one (1) reproducible and five (5)
additional complete sets of finial drawings including all subsequent revisions approved by the
purchaser. The reproducible shall be of good quality capable of producing clear legible prints.
7.4 After drawings of contract vendor shall submit copies of design calculation including
hydraulic design and pressure part calculations. The vendor shall satisfy the purchaser as to
validity of his design to specification requirements.
7.5 After the award of contract vendor shall submit five (5) copies of all relevant material tests
reports, manufacture’s test certificates, hydrostatic test certificates, performance test
certificates etc. as asked in the specification for inspections and testing.
7.6 Performance curves (capacity vs total head, efficiency, NPSH and KW requirement ) ranging
from zero to max capacity.
Vendor shall submit five (5) numbers of bound copies of instructional manuals for each type of
pump for installation operation and maintenance of the equipment furnished by him. The manuals
should include drawings and performance curves, assembly and disassembly procedure, parts
replacement, etc. the manual shall be got approved by the purchaser before full ply is made.
8.0 PAINTING:
All ferrous surfaces shall be painted with two coats of red oxide primer paint followed by
finish paint.
9 .0 DELIVERY SCHEDULE:
All Items shall be delivered to FRFCF Stores, FRFCF site ,IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu –
603 102 within Twelve (12) months from the date of issue of purchase order.
DATA SHEETS
MOTORS:
1. TYPE: The motors shall be squirrel cage induction type and rated for continuous duty. All the
motors shall be suitable for Direct On Line (DOL) starting. All motors up to frame size 315 shall
be energy efficient (Efficiency-1) conforming to latest IS 12615 . Motors to be controlled by VFD
(as per load list) shall be suitable for starting/running with VFD. Suitable DOL starters shall also
be supplied along with the motor.
2. Motors shall be suitable for operation on power supply voltage 415 +/-10% V and frequency
50+/-3% Hz.
3. INSULATION: The motors shall have class “F” insulation but the temperature rise in the motor
shall be restricted to permissible limit for class “B” insulation. Windings insulation shall be given
anti corrosive treatment.
4. AMBIENT TEMPERATURE: Ambient temperature of 50 deg. Centigrade shall be considered.
5. TERMINAL BOX: IP-55 as per IS:2147.All the motors shall have terminal box of adequate size
and strength to withstand short circuit fault current and also accommodate the cable termination
comfortably without causing undue stress on the motor terminals.
6. ENCLOSURE: Motors shall have TEFC enclosures with IP55 protection, suitable for outdoor
installation.
7. GREASING ARRANGEMENT: All the motors above 3.7 KW / 5 HP shall be provided with
greasing nipple for on line greasing arrangement.
8. MOTOR RATING: Motor rating for centrifugal pumps and compressor shall be selected as per
recommendation of relevant API codes, over ridden by these specifications. The motors for VVFD
shall be designed suitably for the drives.
9. Motors shall be capable to start pump at 80% of rated voltage with control valve wide open.
10. The supplier shall perform all Acceptance and Routine Tests for all motors and Type test on one
motor of each rating as per latest version of IS – 325 & IS – 4029 in the presence of purchaser’s
representative.
11. PAINTING: Motor shall be painted as per applicable IS-5, shade -631.
12. SPACE HEATER: To be provided
