Engagement of Safaiwala on Full Time Contract basis

Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the engagement of
Safaiwala on full time contract basis. Applicants may submit Online Application by
login to rrcmas.in. Applications complete in all respects should be submitted
“ONLINE ONLY” before 17.00 hrs of 27.08.2018. Applications sent by post will not
be entertained. Applicants are requested to go through the instructions carefully.
Each applicant can submit only one application. In case of Applicant submitting more
than one application, his candidature will be cancelled.

Candidates should ensure that they possess/fulfil all eligibility conditions prescribed
for the post as on the closing date of submitting application.
Note :
1. Relaxation of 5 years of age for SC/ST candidates.
2. Relaxation of 3 years of age for OBC Non Creamy layer candidates.
3. Relaxation of 10 years of age for Person with Disability candidates (Post of
Safaiwala is suitable for OH candidates only)

III. Examination Fee:

Candidates applying for Safaiwala Posts on full time contract basis in


response to this notification have to pay the prescribed fee online as detailed
below:
For UR / OBC candidates, application fee is Rs.500/-. Of this fee, an amount
of Rs.400 shall be refunded to candidates appearing the screening test. No refund
will be given, if candidates do not appear in screening test.

For SC / ST / PWD / Women / Economically Backward / Minority candidates,


application fee is Rs.250/-. Full refund of Rs.250/- shall be made to all such
candidates on appearing the screening test. No refund will be given, if candidates
do not appear in screening test.
IV. Monthly Remuneration :

The approximate monthly remuneration for the post of Safaiwala on


contractual basis is as given below.

*Please note that this is only an approximate amount payable at Chennai and is liable to
change from city to city.

V. The Process of engagement of Safaiwala on full time contract basis.

There will be a Screening test consisting of 50 objective type questions (in


Hindi, English, Tamil and Malayalam) followed by Physical Efficiency Test(PET).
PET is compulsory for all candidates & will be qualifying in nature only.

The screening test will largely be based on the educational qualification


prescribed for the post. The duration of the Screening test will be 45 minutes. The
mode of screening test will be written / online. No change of time, date and venue of
screening test will be entertained under any condition.

Physical Efficiency Test consists of lifting of Weight for a distance of 100


metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down. In case of
Women 20 Kgs of weight and in case of Men 35 Kgs of weight.

PET is qualifying test. Being called for PET, does not mean call for
engagement. 4 times the number of candidates may be called for PET.

Candidates are further advised to visit rrcmas.in frequently to get the latest
information on dates of screening test, results etc. Call letters intimating date, time
and venue of the screening test will be available for download at rrcmas.in. No
intimation to the candidates will be sent through post. Candidates are advised to
keep their personal mobile number and personal valid e-mail active as
communications may also be made through SMS/E-mail.

The list of Candidates to be engaged will be based on the merit position in


screening test, subject to the extent of notified posts and reservation rules.
VI. General Conditions :

1. The engagement of Safaiwala would be on the full time contract basis


for a period of one year or if any extension made by Railway Board or
till regularly selected RRC/RRB candidates are available whichever is
earlier.

2. The services rendered as Safaiwala on contract basis is a stop gap


arrangement and will not have any bearing in respect of consideration of
their period of service in case of regular selection through RRC/RRB.

3. Full time Contract Staff who enters into contract with the Railways will
not have any claim or right for his/her regularisation or absorption in
Railway service.

4. During the validity of contracts, the Railway Administration will be at


liberty to terminate the contract by giving 15 days’ notice at any time
during the contract without assigning any reason whatsoever. The
contract shall also be terminated forthwith if the work of the Contract
Staff is found to be unsatisfactory and the full time Contract Staff is
found to be mentally or physically incapacitated.

5. Candidates proposed to be engaged on contract will be subject to


Screening Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Examination and
should be found fit in the medical classification mentioned vide Para II.

6. Candidates may please note that they are liable to be posted in any
Station/Hospital/Division in Southern Railway.

7. The detailed instructions with regard to the duties shall be given to the
applicants who are selected, along with the offer of engagement.

8. The SC/ST/OBC candidates should submit a self-attested copy of the


caste certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed
proforma. OBC candidates must ensure ‘non creamy layer’ certification
and such certification should not be more than one year old at the time
of Document Verification.
