Curriculum Vitae – Rajendra Parmar
Key Accomplishments:
• To study the Trans-esterification & Acid-esterification reactions for different
Vegetable Oil & Fatty Acid Distillate & analyze all the properties of Biodiesel to
meet ASTM D 6751 and EN 14214 specifications at Lab scale as well as Pilot
Plant scale
• Looking after the activity for Mechanical Extraction from different seeds like
Jatropha, Karanja and their Biodiesel Preparation for Property study
• Laboratory Development in Project Stage, SOPs. and other documentations
• Actively involved in Biodiesel Plant pre-commissioning stage for QC support
• Involved with the Marketing Team for Biodiesel marketing to support as
Technical person.
Responsibilities:
• To carry out the research work on the Biodiesel process optimization as well
as production of Biodiesel on Pilot plant scale for IC Engine testing purpose
• To analyze the physical as well as chemical properties of Biodiesel such as
Flash Point, Cloud Point, Pour Point and Kinematic Viscosity, Acid number,
Free fatty acid, Total Glycerin and Free Glycerin content etc.
Key Accomplishments:
• Process developed for manufacture of “EN 14214 specification Biodiesel” from
“Beef Tallow” on the basis of experiments
• Involved in study of the engine performance and emission characteristics of
Diesel Engine operated on Biodiesel (B-5 & B-10) compared with Petrodiesel.
Responsibilities:
• To carry out the research work on the various products of the concerned
sponsored projects of the well-known Indian as well as multinational
companies.
• Process Development and Process Optimization of Biodiesel process
• To lead Infrastructure and manage Process Design & Engineering Cell R & D
with analytical method development activities.
• To work out new research experiments and technologies/methods in
laboratory scale to pilot plant scale in conjunction with other research
scientists.
Key Accomplishments:
• Process for manufacture of “EN 14214 specification Biodiesel” from “Jatropha
Curcus” was developed and optimized on the basis of experiments. The same
process was implemented for manufacture of EN 14214 specification Biodiesel
from other edible & non edible feed stocks (Waste Cooking Oil, Soya bean Oil,
Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil, Coconut Oil, etc.). I was also analyzing the raw
material as well as refined products and byproducts as a part of our project
sponsored by Daimler Chrysler, Germany.
