    DEFENDANT’S MOTION FOR CONTINUANCE

    TO THE HONORABLE JUDGE OF SAID COURT:

    and files its Motion for Continuance in the above-entitled and numbered cause, and would

    respectfully show the Court as follows:

    I.

    This case is presently set on its first jury trial setting on ______________________. This
    Lawsuit arises from an _______________ which took place on or about ____________. Plaintiff
    alleges he was injured in a collision with Defendant resulting from Defendant's alleged
    negligence. This is the first trial setting in this matter.

    II.

    Defendants seek a continuance of the current jury trial setting of ________________ and
    requests this case be reset for trial on the next available jury week in __________ days.

    III.

    Good cause exists for the foregoing continuance. On or about _____________________,


    Plaintiffs’ counsel filed a Motion to Withdraw as counsel for Plaintiff in this matter. On
    ___________________, the Court entered an Order granting counsel's Motion to Withdraw. To
    the best of Defendants knowledge, no new counsel representing Plaintiff has made an appearance

    in this matter. Defendants therefore request a continuance of the current trial setting in order to
    provide Plaintiff time to retain new counsel prior to trial.

    Motion to Continue First Trial Setting, reset this case for trial no less than 120 days from the
