TRACK RECORD
L&T-GULF has been associated with engineering of world’s longest (592 km) heated and insulated
Crude Oil Pipeline for evacuation of waxy crude oil from Cairn India’s Mangala fields in
Rajasthan. The pipeline has been successfully commissioned. L&T-GULF has further carried out
detailed engineering of the second phase of the heated pipeline up to Bhogat terminal near Gujarat
coast, which upon completion would make the total length of the pipeline to 670 km.
L&T-GULF has completed Detailed Engineering fo r the prestigious Bha gyam Field Development
Project covering crude oil flowlines including 15 nos of well pads (total 81 wells-51-production
+30-injection water) and W ater Injection facility at each well pads & Water injection flowlines to
each well pad. Eight (8) well pads have been commissioned so far.
L&T-GULF has also started Detailed Engin eering for addition al 72 we lls for Bhagyam Field
Development of Cairn Energy, India.
Currently, LTG is providing Detailed Engineering Services for six m ajor International projects.
Two projects (56” x 100 km long Export Pipeline, and 320 kms of Flowlines & Trunklines) are of
Turkmengas in Turkmenistan, and involve use of Russ ian Codes & Standard s. The other four
projects are Inter-Refineries Pipelines (IRP-II) 910 km of Takreer, UAE, IRP II Telecom job, HRS
Gas Pipeline (52” x 107 km, 48” x 15 km) of GASCO, UAE, and Lekhwair Gas Field Development
(10 no. of well pads, gas expo rt line & associated flowlines) for Petr oleum Development Oman,
LLC.
Detailed Feasibility studies have been carried out including Environmental Impact (EIA) & Rapid
Risk assessment (RRA) studies.
Jobs being currently executed will give a very sound Proven Track Record to enter into any market.

• Seismic design of underground pipeline is carried out based on IITK – GSDMA Guidelines
for Seismic Design of Buried Pipelines. Hazards assessed due to seism ic activities include
effects of buoyancy due to liquefaction, perm anent ground deformation caused by
liquefaction, seismic wave propagation and fault crossing of the pipeline. Considering the
nascent stage of such studies, services of authoritative expe rts in geolog y, tectonics and
seismic hazards from best instit utions like IIT, Geological Society of India e tc. are also
associated as and when required
• Assessment of riv er morphology and hydrology analysis for river crossings, to estimate
design flood event having a 100-y ear return pe riod. This h elps determine safe setback
distances at river-crossings, considering river migration and local bank shifting, if any
• Sand-dune migration, with help of remote sensing data, available literature and field
observations
• Buckling analysis to identify probable buc kle regions which ar e dependent upon pipe
characteristics and soil/pipe frictional relationships
• Pipeline Hydraulics (Steady State and Transient Analysis) and Surge analysis through
TG Net TL Net, OLGA, Pipesim etc.
• Stress analysis
• Anti-buoyancy control design
• HAZID, HAZOP and HSE, QRA, SIL assessment, SIMOP, RRA
• Corrosion studies
• Batching studies for Multi-Product Pipelines
• Blending studies for Heavy Waxy Crude Oil with Normal Crude Oil
The aim of some of su ch advance stu dies is to reduce any risk o f pipeline rupture or exposure
during an earthquake, landslide, flood event etc. to an absolute minimum.
