Pom Pom Flowers


Supplies
–– Wool in several different
colours
–– Long green pipe cleaners
–– Green felt
–– Pencil –– Strong glue
–– Pom pom templates –– Ribbon
–– Thin cardboard
–– Scissors

1 Cut out a pom pom template the 8 Take a short length of wool in the

Step  1. Cut out a pom pom template the size


you want your flower to be and use
a pencil to draw it onto cardboard

Step  2. Cut the cardboard rings out and

Step  3. Choose a wool and thread the end


of it through the rings and back
around itself to create a knot. The
two rings should now be fastened
together with the wool.

Step  4. Cut a very long length of wool. Keep


it connected to the knot and push
it through the hole again. Wrap it
around the edge keeping it close
together.

Step  5. Keep wrapping until there is no


longer a hole. (You may need to
use a needle as the hole becomes
smaller) Cut off any excess wool.

through the wrapped wool around
the edge leaving the cardboard in
one piece.

Step  7. Continue to do this all the way round


until you are left with a pom pom
with discs around the middle.

Step  8. Take a short length of wool in the


same colour and tie it very tightly
around the middle of the pom pom
in between the two rings. Cut off
any excess

Step  9. Next wrap your pipe cleaner over the


top of the wool around the centre
and twists it around itself to create
a stalk.

Step  10. Fold the edge of your green felt over


and draw a leaf on it with a flat
bottom up against the fold.

Step  11. Cut this out without cutting along


the fold.

Step  12. Wrap the leaf around your stalk


so that the two leaf sections are
pressed together with glue to hold
it in place.

Step  13. Repeat this process using different


wools and different sized pom poms
to make lots of flowers

Step  14. Tie together into a bunch of flowers


with a ribbon.
