Fecon will reimburse 3 hours labor plus travel time and mileage (if

Description: Fecon has discovered a problem at low idle which, under certain
circumstances, could potentially cause damage to the engine and hydraulic system.
In order to maintain the safe operation of this product, Fecon is requiring this
program update be performed within 7 days of notification. Immediate action is
required.
This bulletin details the steps needed to download the software and update the
program in a FTX128 mulching tractor. Internet connection is necessary for
downloading the software to a laptop. Internet connection is not needed for loading
the new program into the FTX128.
The updated program includes many changes which are noted below.

• If the engine rpm is lowered all functions will be disabled. If, after
operating for a period of time at high engine rpm, the rpm is
lowered, all functions will be disabled automatically.
• The reversing fan will finish its cycle. If the engine rpm is lowered
below high rpm during a reverse fan cycle, the engine rpm will stay
at 2000 rpm until the cycle is complete.

1. Connect the laptop to the FTX128 via the USB cable with the key in the
‘ON’ position.

9. Using a photo-tachometer,
measure the drive pulley rpm.

Note: Adjust the regulator screw IN if the drive pulley rpm is above 2375.
Adjust the flow regulator screw OUT if the drive pulley rpm is below 2375.
Note: 2375 (+/- 20) rpm at the drive pulley equals 60 gpm output from the
mulcher pump.
15. Navigate back to the High Flow Pump Control page in the display.
16. Highlight the “Pump COUT Cutom Flow” and press OK.
18. Adjust the mA in the Custom Flow page to achieve 810 (+/- 20) rpm at
the drive pulley.
Note: 810 (+/- 20) rpm at the drive pulley equals 20 gpm output from the
mulcher pump.
20. Enter the Custom flow mA value for all other flows (34 GPM, 41 GPM,
Stumpgrinder and Bypass). Do not change the Max Flow mode setting.

Note: Once the program is loaded the loader arm speed will return to the
default setting. The loader arm adjustment page is NOT password
protected.
3. Once the Low Idle starts to raise, release the switch, the engine RPM
should advance all the way up to 2000 RPM.

5. Once the High Idle starts to lower, release the switch, the engine
RPM should decrease all the way down to 1000 RPM.
Note: You should not be able to place the idle anywhere in
between 1000 rpm and 2000 rpm.

could result in relay damage, causing the air conditioning to not function properly. This

rollers. This procedure details how to check for the misalignment and the correction.

7. Adjust the track tension to ¾” (19mm).
8. Using the grease adapter hose, add grease to increase tension.
9. To increase sag, loosen the grease fitting with a wrench to allow
grease out of the cylinder.

will retain the low speed and high speed functions via the shift button located on the

Description: This bulletin details the removal of the quick disconnect (QD) fittings on
the FTX128.
The FTX128 is equipped with wrenches specifically designed to remove the QD’s.
These wrenches are located on the left side engine door.
The FTX128 uses quick disconnect fittings on the hydraulic hoses for the attachment.
The auxiliary functions use flat-face connectors that consist of a male and female
connector. Push the male into the female to complete the connection.
The main supply and return and case drain return hoses use a thread-together type of
male/ female connectors.
1. Locate the QD Wrenches which are mounted to the engine door on the right side
of the FTX128.
2. To remove the top (return) quick disconnect, place the wrenches as shown
below and rotate the wrench on the left upward while holding the other wrench
steady.
3. To remove the middle (supply) quick disconnect, place one wrench as shown
below and rotate the wrench downward.
4. To remove the bottom quick disconnect, slide the keeper ring to the right with
one hand, and turn the connector counter clockwise with the other.

Fecon has discovered that a potential problem may exist regarding the
quick attach (QA) plate on the FTX128. The plate may not be properly
seated to the Bullhog mulcher at delivery causing the QA plate bolts
to become loose. This could cause machine damage if not corrected.
Fecon recommends the following torque procedure at regular intervals
until the QA plate has properly seated:
Tighten the quick attach mounting bolts on the FTX128 every 8-10 hrs
for the first 100 hrs and every 40 hrs afterward.

Description: This bulletin details the procedure for replacing the bypass valve and
bypass solenoid.
1. Locate the Head/ Bypass Valve Block, located on top of the head
pump.
2. Locate the bypass valve (A) and the bypass solenoid (B).
3. Remove and replace the bypass valve (A) with the new valve and test
machine. If the head pressure reads normal at idle, the problem is
corrected. If the head pressure continues to read full pressure at idle,
remove and replace the new valve with the original part.
4. Remove and replace the bypass solenoid (B) with the new valve and
test machine. If the head pressure reads normal at idle, the problem is
corrected. If the head pressure continues to read full pressure at idle,
remove and replace the new valve with the original part.
5. Locate the date code on the head/ bypass valve block and record.
