Plastic
Usage
Motive
The main motive of our
NGO is to spread
awareness among the
people to
“REDUCE”,”REUSE” and
“RECYCLE” the PLASTIC
and save our
“ENVIRONMENT”
Production and
Usage

1. Plastic produced per

year is 660,787tonnes
in India.
2. Delhi produces 11% of
total plastic waste per
year and Jamshedpur
produces 3.94% of total
plastic waste per year.
Delhi is the leading city
for producing the
plastic waste whereas
the Jamshedpur is the
least.
Why Jamshedpur is
the least consumer
of plastic?
The reason of Jamshedpur being
the least plastic producing city of
India is that it is the Industrial city
of India where the plastic waste is
being processed and is used in the
construction of the roads. The first
initiative was taken
by Jamshedpur Utility and
Services Company (JUSCO) using
bitumen technology on waste
plastic, ranging from polybags to
biscuit packets, for constructing
roads. JUSCO has constructed
12-15 kms road in the steel city as
well as Tata Steel Works besides
widening 22 roads using the
environment-friendly technology
of utilising waste plastic.
Why plastic is
harmful?
❖Plastic never goes away.
•Plastic is a material made
to last forever, yet 33
percent of all plastic -
water bottles, bags and
straws - are used just once
and thrown away.
•Plastic cannot biodegrade;
it breaks down into smaller
and smaller pieces.
Plastic affects
human health.

Toxic chemicals leach out

of plastic and are found in
the blood and tissue of
nearly all of us. Exposure to
them is linked to cancers,
birth defects, impaired
immunity, endocrine
disruption and other
ailments.
Plastic threatens
wildlife.

Wildlife become
entangled in plastic,
they eat it or mistake it
for food and feed it to
their young, and it is
found littered in even
extremely remote areas
of the Earth.
How to avoid plastic
use?

• Bring your own cloth

bags to the grocery
store
•Avoid buying items
packaged in plastic.
•Upcycle
•Don't just discard
electronics.
•Bring your own
container for takeout
and leftovers.
