3.1 Progress

o In progress installation of storage racking rails over top
bars of Cold and Dry rooms.
o Aluminium window openings completed.

o In progress installation of gms balustrades to platform 65%
and stairs.
o External Works:

3.4 Site Services
a. CEB
o Contractor reported that CEB caused some damages to
the Electrical Room during installation.
o No separate meter required during cooling down of
Cold Rooms.
 Readings to be taken before and after cooling
down operation to assess consumption.
b. CWA – No further issue.
c. Telecom – No further issue.
3.5 Site Matters
a. CEB
o Contractor reported that CEB caused some damages to
the Electrical Room during installation.
o No separate meter required during cooling down of
Cold Rooms.
 Readings to be taken before and after cooling
down operation to assess consumption.
b. CWA – No further issue.
c. Telecom – No further issue.
d. Stormwater drain at entrance gates.
o Contractor suggested to allow 2 no. off 200mm
diameter pipes as existing is small and is already
damaged by trenching and earthworks.
o Client approved.
4.0 Architect Matters
a. Messroom and toilets on Mezzanine Floor.
o Client requested to omit false ceiling in Messroom and
Office areas.
 Updated architect’s layout issued. 30th September 2019
 Maximum internal wall height set @ 4m high to
line up with sill height of clerestory openings.
o Contractor requested mep services layouts.
 Issued by Merits Consulting. 2nd October 2019
o Client requested that floor tiling be extended in Office
area.
 Architect to issue updated schedule of floor and
wall tiling areas.
o Sash door separation between Dry Room and Cold
Rooms:
 Architect’s layout and detail issued.
 Contractor to submit shop’s detail for review 24th September 2019
and approval.
 Contractor proposes to wrap the structural
mullion and transom with gypsum panel above
4m high.
b. Landscaping of internal yard and external frontage:
o Client requested that only levelling and grading of the
landscaping areas be done.
o Landscaping work and associated watering points shall
be done at later stage by Client.
5.0 Structural & Civil Engineer Matters
a. Outstanding explanation of concrete strength saga:
o Contractor submitted draft explanation to Engineer for
information and comment.
b. Sub-base support of Crank Wheel guides:
o Engineer issued detail of reinforced concrete sub-base
support but amendment required for updated
dimensions of 6m long by 1m wide as per approved
model.
6.0 MEP Services Engineer Matters
a. Air conditioning provision in the Office at Mezzanine Floor:
o No a/c units required until internal layout of Office is
defined.
o Merits Consulting issued schematic layout:
 Architect requested that compressors be
relocated to Technical Room.
 Void areas in claustra opening blocks and
volume in Technical Room computed by
Architect for information of Engineer.
b. Rainwater harvesting tank along stormwater drain network:
o Contractor stated that the procured rainwater harvesting
tank comes with in-built Chlorine filter.
o Only pump required to be housed and connected to the
harvesting tank.
o Merits to submit schematic layout for proposed pump. 4th October 2019
c. Provision of external lighting and camera fittings:
o Coordination meeting held between Engineer and
Client’s contractor.
o Added additional provision to shear wall of external
stair along gridline 6.
d. Certification of MEP works in progress and due to be issued this
week.
e. Firefighting sign:
o Architect approved size of sign.
f. Motorisation of entrance and access gates:
o Architectural layout of the gates copied to Engineer.
o Stuctural Engineer submitted structural detail and weight
of the gates.
o MEP Services Engineer to submit schematic layout.
g. Cover to generator drawpit: 11th October 2019
o No cover required as it is already filled with aggregates.
7.0 Quantity Surveyor’s Matters
a. Claim no. 9 received and being processed.
o Awaiting to receive certifications from Merit Consulting Addendum Rev. 1
for mep services works.
o Merits Consulting to do needful to speed up matter.
b. Contractor to submit earth cut volume for building works.
o Contractor and QS to meet and agree upon final
volumes for external and building works.
c. QS to assess extension of time cost claim.
8.0 Contractor’s Matters
a. Extension of time:
o Contractor stated that it is in process of submitting time
and cost implications against agreed POW.
b. Final account:
o QS invited to initiate final account as most items are
defined and finalised.
c. Independent control of +3mm tolerance of casting of rails in
Dry and Cold Rooms.:
o Client could not find consultant to carry out exercise.
o Contractor shall do its best to coordinate with Storax.
d. Snagging
o Snagging started in Workshop, Store 1, Store 2, Store 3 27th September 2019
and Store 4.
o Next scheduled snagging:
 External North Elevation, Internal Pump Room, 7th October 2019
External East Elevation, Internal Transformer
Room, Internal Security Post.

9.0 Cold Room and Racking Contractors – Cool Executive and Storax
a. Custom-made dog house to shelter exiting heat pipes to Plant
Room:
o To be done after completion of all installations.
b. Cyclonic resistance of door panels in Dock Cubicles:
o Client confirmed having approved additional
reinforcement to the door panels.
c. SAS door between Cold Room and Dry Room:
o Contractor to ensure that steel post support is in place
prior to door installation.
10.0 Client Matters
a. Operational readiness of external stores:
o Snagging already conducted. 21st October 2019
o De-snagging to follow.
b. Asphalting of Apron Area: End October –
o Storage rails already on site and being installed. Start November 2019
o Crusher run to facilitate access to delivery trucks in
progress.
c. SAS door between Cold Room and Dry Room:
o Contractor to ensure that steel post support is in place
prior to door installation.
d. Hard copies of master site layout to initiate procedures for
operational status:
o Copies ready to be collected at Architect’s premises.
e. Completion of Project:
o Architect stands ready to be consulted and called upon if
required and necessary.
11.0 Procurement Matters
a. Dock Levellers and Retractable Dock Shelters:
o Ordered September 2019 ???
b. Fork Lifts:
o Leasing arrangement with specialist supplier to be
entered.
c. Crank Wheel Guide:
o Model and type confirmed.
o Order to be confirmed.
d. Fire Rated Door:
o Being manufactured.
e. GMS Balustrades:
o On site and being installed.
f. GMS Access Gates:
o To be ready after asphalting of tarmac area. Mid-November 2019
g. Electrical Distribution Boards:
o On site and being installed.
o To be ready before cooling down operation of Cold 25th October 2019
Rooms.
h. Sanitaryware Items:
o Client to supply some specific items.
i. Tiling in Messroom, Toilets and Security Kiosk:
o Client already chose tiling samples from Lising.
 Wall + Skirting - Corten SQ 30x60
 Floor - Camboya Rojo 31x60
o Updated schedule to be forwarded to QS for final
quantities.
o QS to liaise with Lising for final offer and Client to
confirm order.
