INTRODUCTION
Cockroach iscanbe found everywhere specially on our house. Cockroach is
aharmful insect. It cancause many diseases that can affect one’s health. People
canprevent those diseases through the help of insecticide.
Two species of cockroaches in the house by hitchhikingingrocery bags,
cardboard boxes, luggage or furniture. Oriental cockroachesenter buildings from
theiroutside habitat by moving alone plumbing pipes, usually up through the floor from
underneath the crawl space, and under door or window jambs.
People mistakenlybelieve that cockroaches only infest dirty houses.
Unfortunately, cockroachesare equal-opportunity invaders. Even spotlesslyclean
houses can attract cockroaches. These pests cancarry disease and can cause food
poisoning and trigger allergies and even asthma attacks as a result of the dander
ofdiscartdedexoskeletons and feces.
Athough good housekeeping is helpful, insecticides are usually necessary to
eliminate infestation. Many typesof insecticides are available forcontrolling
cockroaches. Most are sold as liquid or aerosol sprays, while some are formulated as
edible baits or dusts.Always readand follow product instruction.Thiswill help you to
achieve optimal results while using the productssafely. Many insecticides require the
removal of food and utensils from treated areas. Removing such items often makes
areas more accessible for treatment and prevents possible contamination by
insecticides.
Through the use of this cockroach killer orinsecticides, we were now able to
live happily and comfortable without the presence of cockroaches.
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Garlic is widely appreciated as a spice and as vegetable as well as an
over the counter phytotherapeutic. From a dermato-allergological standpoint
several garlic-related adverse reactions have to be distinguished. The
corresponding literature is reviewed briefly, with regard to our present observation
of a cook, who contracted garlic-enduced contact dermatitis being analyzed for
its complex phatomechanism. Garlic is native to Central Asia and northeastern
Iran, and has long been a common seasoning. Garlic can heal every diseases
like a bite of cockroach and everything. Garlic use for many conditions related to
the heart and blood system. Garlic produces a chemical called allicin. Alicin also
makes garlic smell. Many people use this to prevent those disease and
conditions. . Garlic can also be planted around fruit trees to repel aphids, fruit tree
borers, termites, mice and other pests. WARNING: Garlic is a broad spectrum
insecticide. This means that it will kill beneficial insects as well as pests and also Garlic
makes a powerful natural insect repellent . ... One treatment with garlic is effective
for 2 weeks and can repel insects for up to one month . Moreover, garlic is easy
on the environment . Parker states, “It is a natural extract and does not affect
insects that are beneficial to suburban landscapes. Using Garlic as a Natural
insecticide . ... Garlic makes an excellent economical , non-toxic insecticide for the
mosquitos . It has natural fungicidal and insecticidal properties that work
effectively to control pests. For maximum efficacy in pest control, avoid using any
chemical fertilizers.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Hypothesis:

Null Hypothesis

Garlic is not an advisable ingredient to use as insecticide.

Operational Hypothesis

Garlic is an advisable ingredient to use as insecticide.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study will focuses on garlic as effectivecockroach killer that people can use
in getting rid of cockroaches in easy way.

This research will only study about the effectiveness of garlic as an organic
cockroach killer.

This study will not cover the use of it other kind of pest. This will also not cover
the chemical reaction of plants to the said cockroach killer.
SIGNIFICANCE OFTHE STUDY
The researchers will conducted this study to help and protect the commoners in
controlling the vast spread of cockroach in the community. This study ledto the making
of an alternative cockroach killer that can be made at home easily. The research is also
conducted to know the other uses of garlic beside from using it as an ingredient in
cooking.
CHAPTER II
RELATED STUDY
In the study conducted by IsirimaCheckwa et.al (2010) that leaf damage
decrease with increased application of plantextract (Garlic). Through a linear increase
in insects pests population was observed as levels of the
paplantextratrincreasedflower abscission decreased with increased in rates of theplants
extract treatments the observed increased in cowpea insects incidence with increased
in the rates of the plant extracts, implies that the plant extractspossesattractant
properties while at the same time exhibiting antifidant.
On the other study conducted byMukeshKumarChaubey, the continuous use
ofsynthrticpesticides has increased the risk of ozone depletion, neurotoxicity,
carcinogenicity, teratogenicity and mutagenic effects among non- target species and
cross resistance and multi resistance in insects. In the present study, essential oils
ofalliumsativum(A.sativum)andAeglemarmelos (A.marmelos) has been evaluated for
their repellent, insecticidal, anti_ovipositionalandacetylcholine esterase inhibitory
activities against maize weevil, Sitophiluszeamais(S. zeamais).
Futhermore itwas conduct by Santosh K. UpadhyayPradhyumnaK. Sing that
garlic (Alliumsativum)lectinsare promising candidate molecules for the protection
against( chewin(lepidopteran) as well as sap sucking (homopteran) insect pests.
Lectinsinterferewith theactivity of these proteins and causes physiological disorders
leading to the death of insects.
Apart from this study that was conducted by S.AttiaA. C. MailleuxG.
LognayS.Heuskins.MayoufiT. Hancethat garlic is known for its acaricidalproperties, the
extract concentration that provides the most efficient control has not yet been precisely
determined.
