 Introduction to the Drawing, Drawing Instruments and its use

 Types of Lines, Lettering, Dimensioning style and Scales

 Geometrical Construction and exercises of Elementary Geometry

 Freehand Sketching of straight lines, circles, arcs and different

solid objects

 Orthographic Projection, Planes of Projection, Orthographic views

 Sectional views, methods of sections, Sections of solids

 Introduction to Machine Drawing, Riveting and Bearings

 Isometric and Pictorial Projection of Plane and Solid figures

 Introduction to Civil Engineering Drawing, Plan, Elevation and

Sections of simple building and boundary wall


Course Objectives

1. To enable students to learn basics of Engineering Drawing

2. To enhance skills to prepare and understand the

fundamentals of structural drawings


Course Learning Outcomes (CLO’s)
The students will be able to:

1. Understand the basics of engineering drawing and geometrical

construction.

2. Demonstrate the concept of projections systems.

3. Apply the knowledge of sections on symmetrical and unsymmetrical

objects.

4. Prepare plan, elevation and sections of simple building structures.

5. Perform on the concepts of engineering drawing.

6. Respond manually on drawings of simple objects/structures.
