1 Basic Feature
NOTE
In Table 1-1, "√" indicates that the NE is required, and "-" indicates that the NE is not required.
License Requirement
This is a basic feature of the CG9812; no license is required.
Summary
Compared with the GPRS Tunnel Protocol (GTP), GTP' supports charging data record (CDR)
transmission between the CG and the SGSN, GGSN, S-GW, or P-GW. GTP' has three
versions: v0, v1, and v2. The protocol header format varies with versions.
The CG9812 automatically identifies and adapts to the GTP' version used by the SGSN,
GGSN, S-GW, or P-GW. The Ga interface between the CG and the SGSN, GGSN, S-GW, or
P-GW supports GTP' v0.
Benefits
For... Benefits
Carriers CDRs are not repetitively transmitted or lost during transmission.
Subscribers This feature protects subscribers from being repetitively charged.
Description
The CG9812 sends CDRs to the SGSN, GGSN, S-GW, or P-GW by using GTP' v0.
After receiving CDRs, the CG9812 deletes the CDRs that already exist on the hard disk and
saves the other CDRs based on the sequential number of the GTP' message.

Description
The CG9812 supports CDR validation. When the CG9812 processes the CDRs that are
incorrectly encoded, it experiences CDR decoding failures and reports an Abnormal CDR
event. The CG9812 saves the CDR files that fail decoding to the default directory so that the
BS will not collect these error CDR files.
In error CDRs, the field values do not comply with the Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1).

Summary
The CG9812 can send CDR collection reminders to the BS to ensure that the BS collects
CDRs in real time.
Benefits
For... Benefits
Carriers This feature reminds carriers to collect CDRs in real time.
Subscribers None
Description
The CG9812 authorizes the CDR file storage directory to the BS so that the BS can collect
CDRs in real time. If the BS does not collect CDRs in real time, the CG9812 generates an
alarm to remind carriers of CDR collection. If the BS or the CG9812 is faulty, CDRs are not
collected by the BS and therefore are accumulated on the CG9812 for a long time. The
CG9812 deletes CDR files if they expire. As a result, CDRs are lost. This feature helps avoid

Description
The CG9812 can consolidate some CDRs with the same PDP or bearer context into a single or
multiple CDRs.
The following types of CDRs can be consolidated: S-CDR, G-CDR, eGCDR, SGW-CDR, and
PGW-CDR.
During consolidation, the CG9812 adds up the duration values of the CDRs to be
consolidated, sets recordOpeningTime of the consolidated CDR to the recordOpeningTime
value of the first CDR to be consolidated, and processes the following fields:
recordSequenceNumber
localSequenceNumber
listOfTrafficVolumes
listOfServiceData
Compared with the CDRs before consolidation, the CDRs after consolidation have a new field
consolidationResult, indicating the consolidation result. If the causeForRecClosing value of
the last CDR to be consolidated is normalRelease, the consolidationResult value is normal.
The CDR format after consolidation is different from the CDR format before consolidation.
CDR consolidation is configurable and can be enabled as required.

NOTE
A link indicates a session established for the communication between an NE and the CG9812 and is
determined by the combination of an IP address and a port number.
The CG9812 pool solution applies only to CG9812s configured with a disk array.
This feature must be used with WCFD-032100 CDR processing acceleration.
An IP address for redirection cannot be configured on the CG9812.
In a CG9812 pool, only one access NE group can be configured for the CG9812s and all
the CDRs on the CG9812s must have the same format.
CPCI-based CG9812s and ATCA-based CG9812s need to form separate CG pools. If
they form a single CG pool, the performance of the CG pool is based on the CPCI-based
CG9812s.
The SGSN9810 can access a CG9812 pool and the GGSN9811 can access another
CG9812 pool. However, the SGSN9810 and GGSN9811 cannot access the same
CG9812 pool.
