WHAT IS ACUPRESSURE?
Acupressure = applying pressure with your
fingers in the spots where an acupuncturist
would use a needle

It can help stimulate particular points along

the meridians to relieve stagnation and
blockages, thereby speeding up your body’s
own healing response

HOW TO
Using deep, firm pressure, massage the
Simple acupressure
point in circular motion, or hold steady pointers
pressure
Often a point will be tender when it needs
stimulation. You can massage it until the
tenderness lessens, usually 1-2 min
Do them when you feel you need them,
don't overdo it. Pay attention to what
effects points have on you.

MOXA HEAT
THERAPY
Moxibustion is the use of the herb Mugwort (Artemisia
Vulgaris) for healing purposes. The practice involves
burning Mugwort over specific acupuncture points or
areas of pain to warm and heal a specific condition.

Moxa is generally used for cold and stagnant conditions

(deficient/weak and/or painful issues). Some examples
are general immune system strengthening (for people
who get sick often), chronic low energy, chronic fatigue,
and cold hands/feet. Some painful conditions where
Moxa is helpful are menstrual cramps, arthritis, muscle
pain anywhere in the body, and more.

Another common usage is to turn a breeched baby.  The

acupuncture point UB 67, when used with moxa, will
correct a breech presentation over two-thirds of the
time with no other interventions.

HOW TO
Simple Moxa pointers
Light your moxa cigar with a candle or
camping lighter
have a fire safe dish ready to ash the Moxa
Scrape the Moxa on the lip of your fire safe
dish instead of tapping
Hold above point about an inch or so away
from the skin, until hot. You should feel a
comfortable, radiating warmth.
Repeat at least 3 times
Use a glass filled with rice or dirt to put out
the Moxa stick. Do not get wet :)
