About AIEEE
For admission to engineering and architecture/planning programmes, Government of India vide
Resolution dated 18th October 2001 has laid down a three- Exam scheme (JEE and AIEEE at the national
level and the State Level Engineering Entrance Examinations (SLEEE) for state level institutions - with
an option to join AIEEE. This also solves problems of overlaps and reduces physical, mental and financial
burden on students and their parents due to multiplicity of entrance examinations.

The third All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) was held on 20th & 21st may 2004.
3,57,266 candidates, out of 4,17,723 candidates registered, appeared for the examination of 765 centres
located in 102 cities

Approximately, 9000 seats in 117 institutions, namely 18 National Institutes of Technology, 15 Deemed
Universities and 79 other Technical Institutions, 3 other Govt. funded Institutions and 2 state Universities
were offered through this examination in the states of Haryana and Rajasthan, 15% open seats in state
level institutions and 100% seats at state level institutions in Himachal Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttranchal &
U.T of Chandigarh were filled up through this examination. A centralized counselling had been organized
for filling up the All India seats

BITSAT is a Computer Based Online Test for Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree
programmes of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) campuses at Pilani, Goa and
Hyderabad. `Computer Based Online Test' means the candidate sits in front of a computer and the
questions are presented on the computer monitor and the candidate submits the answers through the
use of keyboard or mouse. Each computer is connected to a server, which prepares the question set
