GUIDANCE SERVICES

INFORMATION
Guidance Center provides students with updated information on educational,
occupational, social and personal matters through orientation, seminar-
workshops, symposia, newsletters, bulletin board announcements, etc.

COUNSELING
Guidance Center sees to it that students have someone to talk with regards to
their personal/ academic/ family and other problems and concerns. The
Counselor helps the students develop his/her ability to explore the problem,
consider possible solutions make important decisions, and plan out a course of
action. The service is conducted either individually or in group.

FOLLOW-UP
Follow-up service focuses on graduates, school learners and counseled students.
It hopes to look into the effectiveness and adequacy of the guidance program
and the educational program in general. Follow-up is done through letters,
telephone calls, personal interview or questionnaire. This may also include
contact with school heads, counselors of former student to gain insight into their
level of adjustment.

INDIVIDUAL INVENTORY
This service aims to gather information about the students to better understand
them. The Guidance Center keeps an organized and systematic record of each
student. All personal information is kept confidential.

ASSESSMENT AND APPRAISAL


The Guidance Center helps the students assess and understand her abilities,
capacities, and interests, personal and pressing concerns. It is also a useful tool
for the counselors as basis for guidance and counseling and helps diagnose
behavioral and emotional problems that affect school performance. Every year,
students are given various psychological tests and are interpreted by their
perspective guidance counselors.
