Configuration of the MControl (Main Lube Oil Pump 2)

Introduction
The configuration of ABB low voltage panel MNS-iS MControl can be achieved in 2
ways; namely,
(1) The use of MView
(2) The of MNavigate (connection to the LAN)

MView
Configuration of the MControl can be carried out using the MView (mounted on
the panel). The MView is connected to the Local Area Network; this network
connects all the MControls, MView and MLink together using a Switch.

MNavigate
MNavigate software is mainly use to change the settings of an already configured
MControl, in situation where an existing electrical motor is replaced with another
one of different specifications.

Configuration Steps using the MView

Configuration Date: Friday, 8th Nov 2019.
Configuration Total-Time: 20 minutes
The configuration of the main lube oil pump 2 and ignition touch MControls were
achieved using the following steps:

1) MView Login: A logon screen appears after choosing one MLink (e.g ML02-
11BJA50). User name and Password are entered via the virtual keyboard in
the MView window.

1
2) After a successful logon, the switchgear view appears showing a list of all
cubicles containing configured MControl devices.
3) After choosing a section of the MNS iS e.g 11BJA50, the cubicle view of
11BJA50 appears, showing the position of the devices in the cubicle. The
green navigation buttons are used to navigate between all modules. When
the desired module is highlighted e.g. 11MBV21AP002 (Main Lube Oil Pump
2), the blue button is used to select the Device Setup.

4) The main lube oil pump 2 is set offline.

5) Select “Send Application”; the LEDs on the MControl start to blink rapidly as
sending application is in process (the blinking takes place for up to 3 mins).
After the LEDs stops blinking, the MControl restarts automatically and the
blinking become normal.
6) Select “Send Parameter” for MC Function; a message “Downloading of
application successful (0x00)” is displayed on the screen.
7) Select “Send Config Parameter” for MC Function.
The new MControl now contains the same information (that were stored in
MLink) as the previous MControl.
8) Select “MC Parameter Overview”; this is selected to verify the settings on
the new MControl.
9) Set the MControl online using “Set Online” on the MView.

Conclusion
The MControl configuration (Main Lupe oil pump 2 and Ignition touch) was done
successfully, and the starters became operational.
