INTRODUCTION

Home for orphans and destitute womens is an endeavor to create space where
the two groups can live together, where one group can provide the other with
what they lack. It is an avantgarde alternative to women’s shelters and
orphanages simply because this is the only facility in the world where
underprivileged children and women of every age live together as families and
form enduring relationships as parents and siblings – thus eliminating the very
need for orphanages and homes for women.

Why this project?

As we all know , there are so many ashrams for widows in Vrindavan where
they get food and shelter but they don’t have any objective in there life , they
just devote there whole life for krishna without any motive and here we also
call them beggars also as they don’t have any work to do and sufficient money
as well. Sometimes they need a family as so many womens are migrated from
west Bengal and Assam . Just like these womens , there are so many children
who do not have the fortune of having family member caring for them.
Hundreds thousands of children all over the world are growing up in dreadful
conditions. Most of time they are children that have lost one or even both of
their parents and on some cases the children have been neglected, physically or
psychologically , abused by their parents or their legal guardians. Here we can
combine these two groups where one group can provide the other with what
they lack.

6
The thesis Home for orphans and Elderly is an endeavor to create space where
the two groups can live together, where one group can provide the other with
what they lack. The aim of the project would be to establish a mutual
relationship amongst the two groups. The elderly would act as a parents while
the children would be a source of happiness, someone in need, a responsibility.
The mother could play an important role in the children's lives, likewise the
children could play an important role in lives of the mother.
The project also encourages people from outside to mingle with the people
living in the home. This is done through community activities, library,
computer lab, spaces for art and craft, music and dance and vocational
workshop spaces for rest womens . One would also have to cater to the needs
and requirements of an womens and children at one place but they would
have to function independently.

7
AIM

The aim of the project would be to establish a mutual relationship among the
two groups. The elderly would act as parents while the children would be the
source of happiness, someone in need, a responsibility. The elderly could play
an important role the children’s live; likewise the children could play an
important role in lives of the elderly.

OBJECTIVES

Marital Status
78% of the women are widows. However about 50% of them have families (sons and daughters)
in their places of origin. In cases where women have sons they have been left because theycouldnotget

cases where they have only daughters they have no option but to live on their own as traditionally

17% are married. The married women in most cases live with husbands in Vrindavan but in almost all
the cases the husband is either ill or disabled and unable to earn a living. In some cases the husbands have

5% of the women are unmarried and in many ways the most marginalized as even the
governmentdoes not have any scheme for their support.

Vrindavan is because Chaitnaya Mahaprabhu from Naudia district had come here and established many homes
and places of worship. However it would be fair to say that the statusofwidowedwomeninBengalisamongst
the worst in the country and in modern times poverty is another reason for the arrival of more and more

About vrindavan

Vrindavan is a holy town in Uttar Pradesh, northern India. The Hindu

deity Krishna is said to have spent his childhood here. It’s home to
temples, many dedicated to Krishna and his lover, the deity Radha. At
Banke Bihari Temple, the curtain in front of Krishna’s statue is opened
and closed every few minutes. At Radha Raman Temple, a gold plate
beside Krishna signifies Radha. Prem Mandir is a huge white marble
temple. The city of Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh earns its claim
to fame for being the domain of Lord Sri Krishna. Located 90
miles from Delhi in Mathura district it is one of the most
important Hindu pilgrim points. This idyllic city on the banks
of River Yamuna is known for its many temples dedicated to
Lord Krishna who spent a considerable time of his youth here
with his gopis and beloved Radha. The many temples in
Vrindavan are seen at their best during Janmashthami, Holi
and Radhasthimi. While in Vrindavan you can avail the
different Dharamshalas and guest houses that offer you good
accommodation at a reasonable rate. The guest house of

and women a sense of community, thus encouraging an emotional
connection of love and trust without any distinction of caste, creed or
race. In addition, every Vatsalya child is provided with quality education
equipping them with life skills for a fuller and better life. This in turn gives
them a purpose for living – to celebrate life in all its beautiful hues!
